Arabella

The dinner went well, Ethan was mostly his silent self and would answer politely each time Jonathan or aunt Daisy asked him anything. I didn't miss the look aunt Daisy gave me when Ethan added more portion in my plate. This is again something he has been doing lately, he is usually never satisfied with the amount of food I take for myself. He definitely adds some more and I can't deny that I just love it. I remember how Victor would always remind me to eat less so that I can maintain my slim and petite figure... why do you have to think about him and ruin your mood...

It was late night around 11 when finally Ethan took his leave. I don't know why I just wanted to go home with him. But aunt Daisy was looking forward to my sleepover so I decided to stay back...it's just one night after all...Jonathan and I walked Ethan to the parking space. Ethan held my hand and intertwined our fingers, he did it as if it was the most casual thing to do. I loved the feel of his warm big hands on my smaller ones. Even while bidding good bye to Jonathan he did not let go. Jonathan cleared his throat and said that he will head inside... as he entered the building Ethan pulled me to a hug and I being the greedy person took in all the comfort he provided...

"Take care...just call Adam whenever you want to come back...ahem...and....I will miss you..."

A small smile graced my lips and I tightened my hold on him.

"I will miss you too..."

Ethan kisses the crown of my head and then pulls away with a content smile on his face. He nudges me to go inside, we say our final byes and I walk towards the entrance of the building. Just when I was about to get in I turned around and found my husband standing near his car, one hand holding the driver seat door open for himself while his eyes were at me. I smiled and waved at him one last time before dashing in....he waited for me to enter the building first...he is so thoughtful... with the goofy smile plastered on my face I enter aunt Daisy's apartment looking like a fool.

Despite the fact that I wanted to go back home with my husband I actually enjoyed myself. Aunt Daisy, Jonathan and I decided to watch a movie before calling it night.

The next day I woke up late and noticed that it was around noon so I quickly freshened up and called Adam. I decided to surprise Ethan by visiting him in office; he asked me a couple of times to start coming to office with him. He even said that he misses his personal accountant...it's high time you get back to your normal life...I agree with my inner self and get ready to leave. Aunt Daisy was not happy since I was leaving without having lunch with her but when I told her about visiting Ethan she literally pushed me out of her house while gushing about what a wonderful husband Ethan is. This woman I swear... laughing at her antics I greet Adam who was waiting for me and asked him to take me to office.

I planned on ordering some sandwiches for lunch after I reach office. But all my excitement was ruined the moment I realized the fact that I have to take the lift all the way to the 56th Floor alone. Since there was still time for lunch I doubt if I could get any company. I thought of checking if someone was around otherwise I would ask Adam to accompany me.

Luckily I found two guys from the accounts department who were just getting in the lift. I got in with them...just two more floors you have to be alone Arabella...it's ok...you can do this for Ethan... the little pep talk I had with myself didn't turn out very helpful but somehow I managed and reached the top floor to Ethan's office in one piece. The moment the lift door opened I dashed out with slight heaviness in my breathing...

"Ari...." on listening to his voice I realized that Ethan was standing right before me with two men from our HR team behind him. I got scared as another bitter memory with Victor surfaced my mind...

I can't be your baby sitter all the time Arabella, its high time you get over this ridiculous phobia of yours. I was in a meeting and because of you I had to come out. Don't try to surprise me in office next time....

Victor never liked to be disturbed during office hours, how can I forget that and risk my progress with Ethan with the similar kind of mistakes.

"Ari...shhh...its ok I got you..." I didn't notice that I was lost in my bitter memories and tears were pouring down my cheeks. Ethan's concerned voice brought me out of my thoughts...

"Why did you come up alone? You should have called me...*sigh*...it's ok now I am here."

"You people can leave and inform Miss Jones to take down notes from the meeting, I won't join."

My eyes were wide like saucers and I was beyond embarrassed. He was about to attend a meeting and now because of me he won't join....

"You don't have to stay, I will wait for you..." I was cut by Ethan...

"No way, you are more important than any meeting. C'mon now let's go in..."

I couldn't stop staring at him when he walked me towards his office... the HR men left immediately after Ethan's orders....you have seen enough to stop comparing Ethan to Victor...this man is a real gem...a rare one for that matter...don't waste your time recalling the bitter memories with Victor instead make new and beautiful memories with this man right beside you...I couldn't agree less with my inner self. There is no comparison between Ethan and Victor...
