"I can't believe we're really gonna get to see the Great Divide!" With a pot of water in her arms, Jade bounced with each step that took them closer to their campsite. "I've heard about how amazing it is, but I never thought I'd get the chance to see the biggest canyon in the world with my own eyes!"

"You're gonna love it, Jade." Aang smiled at her. "It's even more amazing than I bet you think it is." When they reached the site, Aang turned to look at Sokka and Katara. "Okay, we got the grub and the water if you guys got the -- "

The twigs were on the ground and the tent was in a heap. Sokka and Katara were standing on opposite ends of the campsite, directing hard glares in the other's direction.

"Hey, where's the campfire? And what happened to the tent?"

With their arms crossed, the two siblings simultaneously turned their backs to each other. Jade blinked.

"Why don't you ask Miss Know-It-All; Queen of the Twigs?" Sokka quipped.

Katara whirled around and pointed at him. "Oh yeah? Well, you're Mister Lazy Bum; King of the -- " She picked up a stick and threw it straight at the back of his head. "Tents!"

Sokka spun around to glare at his sister again.

"Okay, listen, guys." Chuckling, Aang set down the berries in his arms. "Harsh words won't solve problems; action will. Why don't you just switch jobs?"

Katara's eyes were still narrowed. "Sounds good."

Sokka rubbed the back of his sore head. "Whatever."

Without another word, they began their newly assigned jobs. Aang turned to Jade with a proud grin. "You see that? Settling feuds and making peace; all in a day's work for the Avatar."

Giggling, she set down the pot and shook her head. "Well done, Aang."

Momo's sudden shriek caught their attention. Turning, Jade quirked a brow at the sight of the lemur's struggle. He was trying to steal a watermelon away from Appa, who was effortlessly keeping it in place with just a single finger. Momo pushed on the fruit, then attempted to fly away with it, and finally held into it with his legs and clawed at the ground.

The watermelon didn't budge an inch.

When Momo walked away, Appa took the fruit onto his tongue with the aim of devouring it. With the chance presented to him, Momo was quick to snatch it away. Unfortunately, he ran right into Aang, who took the watermelon from him and tossed it into the air. Using his airbending, he sliced it into two clearly unequal pieces.

Appa devoured the large piece with a single bite. Momo chittered in protest at the sight of the much smaller piece in front of him.

"Come on, Momo, that's fair." Aang set his hands on his hips. "Appa's got five stomachs."

The next day rolled around much sooner than expected. They packed up their things and moved on to the latest landmark that Jade hadn't shut up about. Having lived in a city with a father who told her so many stories, there were a lot of things that she didn't shut up about.

The closer they drew to the canyon, the more she skipped with each step she took. The only reason she hadn't tripped and fallen on her face in her excitement was because Sokka was quick enough to grab her arm whenever it almost happened,

She gasped much louder than necessary when they reached the cliff overlooking the canyon. Jade was the first to rush forward and stare out at the sight before her. A wide smile spread across her face.
