Fidel's eyes were the trait that had first lured me in.Maybe it was the depth, or the astonishing crystal blue contrasting to his dark lashes.

Maybe it was the way they'd almost begged to meet my own.Now they were doubtful.Above them, thick brows pulled up together, creasing his skin where they met.

" I'll go ahead big bro, mom and dad are here I'll go bring them up...Mia excuse me"Anna bowed to give his brother a kiss on the forehead before leaving.

"What?" I whispered.

"Nothing..." He seemed distracted."Are you sure you are okay?"

"Alexa texted!" I blurted out the words without thinking.

Although I was sure i wouldn't be able to do it, the moment I had his focus on me the words had slid through easily.It would have been so easy to take them back.

To feed him more excuses about homesick.But I didn't. I couldn't.

"Wait...what?" He arched his brows while he supported himself with his hands to sit up.

"Please don't think I'm crazy." I whispered again."I know Alexa is dead but...who's this?"I held out my phone to him to show him the text I'd just received from Alexa.

"Mia this is_"

"Crazy, crazy, I know." My tone wasn't weak.It was understanding.But I needed him to believe me.Even if it was only for a second.

"I don't know what to say" he said, and I realised that he almost looked scared.

Maybe he was holding back, not wanting to offend me by laughing in my face.

"Look this is crazy but..."

"My son...Fidel you okay!i was worried sick about you" Mrs Costa interrupted looking completely worried.Mr Costa on the other side greeted me.Atleast he'd noticed me.

"I'll go ahead ma'am" I said before heading out I looked on my watch...6:00pm.I had t hurry home and get ready to meet Alexa.

It was almost dark as i walked across campus, an uneasy feeling blossomed within me when I reached the ground floor of our building.

I ran up the stairs,my calves burning with every step.When I unlocked the door, there was no sight of Katie.I assumed she'd spend the night with Bryan.

I fished out my cellphone and looked at my watch again, I still had 30 minutes to go meet Alexa.Hungry is an understatement, I was extremely starving.I was about to grab a glass from the cupboard when there was a knock at the door.My heart skipped.

That must be Katie I thought to myself before I gathered the courage to go open the door.

"This is a delivery for you ma'am" A handsome man with sandy hair and blue eyes handed me a pizza delivery.

"But I didn't order anything.." He'd already left and out of my sight.All I could hear was the thumping of my heart blasting through my ears.

I had to pinch myself to make sure i wasn't dreaming.

The words written on top of the pizza made me hot all over, blood pooling at the surface of my cheeks and sheening my body in sweat.I was terrified.
