Katie pulled up in front of the school and I hurried out of her car before making it our room in a rush Katie ran behind me, confused at my reaction. As soon as she got in the room I pleaded with her to lock the door and she obeyed I realised I was sweating profusely.

"What's wrong Mia, why are you like this? "Katie asked after I'd calmed down.

There was silence.

"What did they do to you? "she asks again.

I contemplated on whether I wanted to tell Katie everything but I decided to keep it to myself. I had to be sure before I could tell Katie what is happening.

"um... Katie it's nothing... I just... "She interrupted before I could finish.

"What do you mean nothing... Mia, when you called me,you just looked like you'd seen a ghost "She raised her voice slightly.

"I know...but Katie it's nothing I swear, okay look, I don't wanna talk about it... "I looked away then said "please ?"Katie nodded her head and I sighed.

She walked around the room as if thinking about something.

"Let's have some fun tonight "she said with her eyes beaming "I know I know you don't like parties but I promise it'll be great "

"What's the occasion? "I heard myself asking.
She sighed, "it's the weekend Mia. "

It was a good idea to freshen up my mind because I was dull and tired.

I changed my clothes and wore something which was not only comfortable but matched with occasion as well. I stood in front of the mirror and straightened up my shirt to remove the creases.

"They tell you before going to college that it will be the 4 years that define your life but they never tell you that a defining moment could happen in the first week of your the 1st year experience " I recall my mother's words I shiver a little when I imagine her reaction when she found out I was going to a party.

When Katie parks her car near the party venue,I sit in my seat while biting my lip in nervousness.

"Mia, it's going to be fine, don't worry too much "She tells me as she squeezes my arm gently.

"I'll try not to,but can you blame a girl who has never been to any of these "I exclaimed with a laugh."I'll stay with you the whole time, nothing to worry about "I nod my head in agreement.

"This is going to be so fun! "Katie squeals before looping her arm with mine and pulling me towards the front door of the house party.

When the door opens my eyes don't know what to focus on,as they go to the grinding couples on the make shift dance floor, the groups of guys drinking their weight in beer and finally to the couples making out in the dark corners. Next I take in the smell and my nose scrunches up at the combination horrible smells.

"Let's go get something to drink "Katie yells over the music, I nod and she pulls me with her to go get the drinks. A few minutes later we find the kitchen which is littered with red plastic cups.

"What do you want? "Katie asked me while reaching out for a bottle of alcohol I watch her pour unknown liquid in the cups and a few seconds later she hands me the cup i look at the cup.

"You'll be fine babe, try it and if you don't like it leave the cup at the counter "She exclaimed encouragingly.

I smile at her reassurance and bring the cup to my lips tilt it back and take some it burn me.

"it is awful! I'm not having anymore Katie. "she laughs at me.

The music changes and Katie squeals.
"This is my favorite song, c'mon let's go dance"she says before dragging me to the dance floor.

I bump into a guy and immediately I recognize him,its Noah,he was in my class.

"Hey gorgeous "He says, I try to see Katie over his shoulder but I don't see her. "Wanna dance "he suggests.

"umm no sorry I'm tryna look for my friend... Excuse me "I say a little bit annoyed. Before I could leave he puts a hand over my hip preventing me from leaving.

"Noah! Step away from the girl she looks terrified "I hear a deep voice say, the guy Noah takes his hands off of me and steps back I turn around too see Fidel. I mumble a "thank you "before running for the door. I take a taxi back to the campus dorms.
