Seonghwa never replied back that night. Yeosang's heart only cracked more and more as the hours passed.
The next morning, the brunette laid motionless in his bed. His face felt stiff, unable to put on a different expression due to the dry tears that stained his puffy cheeks. His lips were red and slightly starting to blister from the constant lip-biting to prevent noise from escaping his mouth. It was Saturday, but he would be spending his day alone.
As usual.
He turned his head to his right, checking the time and sighing. He really wanted to do something but thanks to Seonghwa, he didn't feel like doing anything at all. He didn't have to anyway. Of course he didn't have to clean his grandma's attic. His grandma from his father's side had passed away 3 years ago and his granny from his mother's side lived in California. Seonghwa should've known this.
Unless he doesn't care.
Eventually, the younger stood up from his sheetless bed -that night, he had torn the sheets off the bed out of anger and distress- and walked towards his bedroom door. He crept out of the small room and into the hallway, making his way to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face. His mother, Mrs. Kang, was in the kitchen cooking lunch for her family. When she heard the sound of her son's slippers dragging across the wooden floor once he came out, she looked up and smiled softly at the tired-looking boy.
"Good afternoon," His mother chuckled as she shook her head. "This is quite an unusual time for you to wake up. Did you stay up? "
Yeosang shook his head. "No, " he lied. "It was a busy and tiring week. I just wanted to rest, that's all." He made his way towards their table and took a seat next to his younger sister. She was coloring a color code page given to her for homework. He looked over at her, her small, little face scrunching up as she concentrated hard.
"Do you need help, Eunji?" Yeosang asked. The said girl shook her head.
"No, I want to try doing it all by myself first." Eunji pouted and rested her head on his arm. "But thanks."
"Oh, by the way, " Mrs. Kang suddenly said, turning to face Yeosang while still stirring the rice she was making. "Wooyoung dropped something off for you. It's on the couch." She gestured toward the couch. Yeosang looked averted his eyes from Eunji's homework and looked toward the couch.
A medium-sized box rested on the arm of the couch. Yeosang stood up from his spot and picked up the box, taking it to his room. He closed the door behind him with a small kick and plopped himself on the bed. He began opening the box, not before he read the sticky note that had been taped on the side:
I KNOW!

your favorite, Woo❣
Yeosang giggled. He really appreciated having Wooyoung as his friend. He opened the box, revealing a box of his favorite snack, Home Run Balls, and under the box, was a forest green cardigan. He immediately pushed the box of snacks aside and tried on the soft sweater. He had been wanting this sweater for the longest. He hugged his small frame with the big oversized sweater and smiled. He made sure to make a mental note to thank Wooyoung in person on Monday whenever he saw him.
