Seonghwa would be lying big time if he said he couldn't feel Yeosang and him drifting apart.
He could feel it tremendously, and the feeling of it was painful.
And the pain only became more and more intense as he observed Yeosang spend his time laughing and smiling with someone that wasn't him. Someone that Seonghwa had highly expected to get in the way of Yeosang and him, which only made the other two's little innocent interactions make Seonghwa's blood boil to evaporation.
Stupid Jongho.
It's been almost 3 weeks since Thanksgiving break had ended. It was Monday all over again and not once have the two talked to one another. Of course, it was partially Seonghwa's fault for never bothering to come up to Yeosang and talk to him, but what was there to talk about? It was as if Seonghwa no longer knew anything about his friend.
It was Monday all over again and not once has Yeosang even bothered to check up on Seonghwa. He spent these past weeks walking home from school with Jongho, meeting up in the mornings with Jongho, eating lunch with Jongho, even walking to class with Jongho for fuck's sake. Everything revolved around Jongho, Jongho, Jongho, Jongho—
To say Seonghwa was completely jealous of the attention Jongho was receiving would be, in fact, the biggest understatement out there. Seonghwa would look at anyone who bothered to ask in the eye and say it loud and firmly that he was jealous. He is jealous, and that jealousy was spreading all over his body, making his thoughts messy and full of nothing but problematic ideas.
Stupid fucking Jongho.
"Are you going to eat that?" Namjoon asked softly, waving a hand in front of Seonghwa's face to catch his attention. Seonghwa blinked his way back into the real world before turning to where Namjoon was pointing.
"No, go ahead." Seonghwa shook his head and pushed his tray over towards Namjoon, who proudly took the curly fries off the younger's tray. Seonghwa sighed as he rested the tip of his nose above his intertwined hands. All this anger had made him lose his appetite, and whatever sort of good mood he had in him left had completely vanished into thin air.
"Hey, um—" Namjoon chuckled as he tried to gather the attention of his friends. "Would you guys be okay with my crush- well not exactly crush, my boyfri- I mean, significant other sitting with us from now on?" The silver-haired boy scratched the back of his neck, nervously.
"Of course!" Hongjoong and Chan both spoke at once. Namjoon smiled widely at the acceptance of his friends, but his smile soon broke down when he noticed Seonghwa completely zoned out. His expression still remained cold and full of vengeance.
"Hwa, is that okay with you, too?" Namjoon asked, worry written all over his face. "I mean, if that bothers you I could always sit with him somewhere else—"
"I really don't care, Namjoon. Who am I to tell you who to hang out with or not?" Seonghwa suddenly snapped. "It's your partner, it's your love life, it's your choice. I'm not in charge of telling you what or who to like-" Seonghwa paused for a moment to catch his breath, only to realize his friends were staring at him with a startled expression on their face. The younger looked away from Namjoon to face the floor, feeling completely embarrassed of his behavior.
"Seonghwa, relax," Chan spoke up after a moment of silence. "He just wanted to make sure you didn't mind him adding another person to our group." He chuckled. "No need to get defensive."
"Yes, Chan, I fucking knew that already-" Seonghwa bit his lip back, there was nothing he could use to excuse his actions. He had been a complete asshole going off on Namjoon like that when he did nothing but ask Seonghwa a question.
