Happy With You

"You all did a good job for today." We all clapped when Master Ansel praised us.

"As I have said last week, we will be having our game match next week. We will be starting the match on Monday. Whoever wins will be our entry for the inter-school competition. We will be choosing two players from each year level, one boy and one girl. I want all of you to give your best. Goodluck!"

"Thank you, Master!" We all said in unison.

"You can change and go home now. Mag-iingat kayo."

We thanked him and bowed before we all went on our way. May mga kasama akong dumiretso sa locker room para magpalit ngunit may mga player ding dumiretso na ng uwi, sila iyong may mga sundo.

When I got out of the locker room, nagulat ako ng makita ko si Homer sa loob. He was talking to Master Ansel. Nagtatawanan pa sila ng maabutan ko.

"Tell Dylan not to miss me so much. He keeps on bugging me like a clingy girlfriend." Pareho silang natawa sa sinabi ni Master Ansel. "I'll attend Lolo Roman's birthday."

"Nakakainis na nga si Kuya Dylan. He's always asking about you, mukhang hindi mapaanak na pusa. He always drops by our house whenever he arrives from work to ask about you."

"Well, Dylan still can't accept the fact that I've already moved out of my parent's house. Nasanay na naroon ako palagi kapag kailangan niya."

"Yeah, kuya's very dependent on you. Kulang na lang ikaw ang pakasalan!"

They're laughing again, tumigil lang sila ng mapansin ako ni Homer. May ibinulong lang ito kay Master Ansel bago tumungo sa gawi ko.

"Ready?"

Tango ang isinagot ko. "Master, we'll go ahead po." I bowed again before finally going out with Homer behind me.

"Sunduin kita bukas."

"Saan tayo pupunta?" I looked at him and waited for his answer.

"Kina Warren."

"Bakit?"

"Magpapakain daw. Lunch."

"Why? Birthday niya?"

"Hindi. Kinasal na ang gago."

"Hindi nga?!" Gulat na tanong ko. Seryosong tumango si Homer kaya naisip kong baka nga totoo.

"Si Sanya ba?"

"No. Sanya was never his girlfriend."

"E, sino ang napangasawa niya?"

"Sikreto lang pero makikilala mo bukas."

Tumango na lang ako at hindi na nagtanong pa. Gulat na gulat ako sa balitang iyon. I really thought he'd end up with Sanya someday. They really look like a couple whenever I see them, they look good together.

Like the usual, kumain na kami sa labas bago umuwi. Pinili kong sa murang fast-food na lang kumain para makatipid. Along the way rin sa amin, sakto para hindi masyadong matagalan sa pag-uwi si Homer sa kanila.

"Have you decided about Lolo's birthday?" He asked when we're driving home.

"Nahihiya talaga ako e."

"Kaya nga isasama natin si Moira para hindi ka mailang."

"Kailangan ba talagang nandoon pa kami?"

He just gave me a look na para akong isang alien.

"I just want you to meet my family--"

"Bakit nga?"

"I told you the reason before, 'di ba? You're one of the important people in my life. Gusto ko lang makilala ka rin ng family ko... Don't worry, mababait naman sila e. I'll just introduce you as a friend. 'Wag kang mag-alala--"
