As the saying goes, "payback's a bitch." Especially when it's from two second generation Marauders. It'll hurt your ego a bit and teach you a lesson. Maybe even open your eyes to someone right in front of you. Your better half, a best friend.

Hogwarts was reasonably peaceful. I enjoyed going to classes, laying out on a blanket by the lake with my friends, and playing a little bit of quidditch. Dumbledore agreed to allow me, Mia, and Viktor to use the quidditch pitch. It was a lovely peaceful routine, but when I was lying down on my bed reading a few weeks into the school year, and Eloise and Vivienne came rushing into our room yelling angrily, I started to question my previous judgment of the school.
"What happened?!" I yelled over them.
"Some of zose stupid 'ogwarts students dumped mush on us when we walked under a tree." Eloise groaned as they both stood in the bathroom, grabbing a washcloth.
"Did you see which ones?" I asked a little surprised any of the Hogwarts students had the guts to prank/mess with us.
"All I know is zat zey 'ah red hair." Vivienne stated, scrubbing away at her arms, trying to get rid of the strange purple color clinging to her skin.
"Bon Dieu! Cela ne disparaîtra pas!!!" Eloise groaned as she frantically rubbed her skin, but the purple would not go away. "I am going to kill zose students!"
"Let me help." I suggested going to grab my wand.
"What are you going to do?" Vivienne asked, looking a little worried at the sight of my wand.
"I know a charm that will make the color go away." I explained, looking at them for permission to turn them back to their typical colors.
"Okay, just do it." Mumbled Eloise looking at the ground. I muttered the charm under my breath and waved my wand, turning the girls back to normal.
"Zank you, Charlotte. I do not know what I would do if you could not have fixed it." Vivienne said, giving me a brief hug as she and Eloise exited the bathroom.
"Yes, thanks, Char."
"Of course." I chuckled.

After Eloise and Vivienne's encounter with the Hogwarts pranksters, I assumed we would all be okay for a while. Instead, Mia and I were dodging pranks left and right. It started when we left the dorms the same day Eloise and Vivienne were pranked. There was a patch of quicksand conjured in our path to enter Hogwarts. Then someone attempted to trap us on a changing staircase. It took us until the end of the day to figure out some certain Weasley's were behind all the pranking. Luckily for us, unlucky for them, Mia and I were professionals when it came to pranks. After all, we were the children of Marauders. We didn't fall for simple pranks like crazy staircases.
The next day, when Mia and I had arranged to meet with Harry and explain a few things to him, we were greeted by the twins holding a hand-full of treats.
"Mia!" "Charlotte!"
"Weasley." Mia and I spoke at the same time, nodding to the boys before attempting to pass them.
"We wanted to apologize." One of them said, trying to look apologetic.
"You are forgiven." Mia stated, pushing past them. I nodded in agreement and tried to follow her.
"Please, Charlotte, take one. We feel bad. This candy is our apology." The other twin stated, trying to hand me the treats. If I were completely oblivious and hadn't heard the stories of these two from Charlie and Bill, then I possibly could have fallen for their trick. Yet, I was not any of those things, so I took the candies, pushed past the two fire-headed boys, and walked into the Great Hall. On my way to Mia and Harry's table, I paused at another table to say hello to some of the Durmstrang boys.
"Char! How are you?" My cousin Noah Black, my uncle Regulus's love child as we call him, said, getting up to engulf me in a hug.
"I'm good, Bean. How are you? Are you entering in the tournament?" Both Noah and Mia were old enough to enter in the tournament, while I turned seventeen in August so I could only observe.
"Probably. It will add some spice to my life right." He chuckled. Noah had been an alternate for the Spanish quidditch team, but never ended up getting to play, so he was a little bored, to say the least.
"Please, just be careful. " I said, patting my cousin's shoulder. "Krum." I nodded at the tall Bulgarian sitting behind my cousin. They were best friends.
"Charlotte, if you keep acting like vee don't know each other, people vill think vee do not like each other." Krum rolled his eyes at me.
"That's the best part. People assume you did something wrong, and I enjoy hearing people's theories." I explained, whacking him on the head as I moved to leave. "OH! I almost forgot. I have some candies. I don't really want them. You guys can have them and feel free to share them if you feel mature enough."
I tossed the candies on the table and walked away. I didn't turn around until I reached Mia and Harry.
"Hi, Harry! Mia, I think we should take this outside. We don't want anyone listening in. Also, I may or may not have just given Viktor and Noah the twin's candies, and I feel it will not turn out pretty." I suggested glancing behind me to see them unwrapping the candies.
"That is probably a good idea." Mia chuckled. "Let's walk, Harry."He nodded, and they stood up, following me out of the Great Hall. We wandered until we were walking by the lake.
"What did you two want to talk about?" He finally questioned, looking from Mia to me.
"Well, Harry, we were instructed by our fathers to inform you that we are your cousins." Mia started. Harry just looked at us, confused. Making me laugh.
"I think they said that because it would make them uncomfortable if one of us dated." I added, definitely not helping the situation. Harry turned bright red and looked at his feet.
"I... I didn't.... that wasn't.....uh." He stuttered, making Mia and I laugh.
"Harry, take a breath. We didn't say you were. That is more of an inside joke between meself, Char, and our dads. I don't know why she said that. There is something much more important she needs to share with you." Mia stated, sending me some hard side-eye.
"Okay, okay, stop. That look makes me feel like you're parenting me." I groaned, earning another look from Mia.
"Wait, Charlotte, how are you, my cousin?" Harry asked, confused. Sadly giving me the perfect opportunity to explain myself to him.
"Umm... Well, Harry, your godfather Sirius Black is my dad....?" I stated, but it came out as more of a question. I had never told someone this before. Mia and Noah knew, along with Draco Malfoy, because we were cousins, but no one else knew. I went by my mom's last name after he got arrested.
"Sirius? He has a daughter?" Harry's eyes grew into saucers.
"Yeah, he met my mom not that long after he graduated from Hogwarts. They never got married, but they lived together for years. We lived in London, but when Voldemort killed your parents, and my father was framed for the murder of those Muggles, my mom and I moved back to Spain to get away from everything." I explained, hoping Harry would understand the weird situation that is my childhood.
"Okay. Why didn't he tell me about you?"
"Once he got out, he came to see me at school. We talked and agreed that I would be the one to tell anyone that he is my father. He knows I'm not ashamed of him. Still, he also understands that I've been living my life and can't really afford for everyone to start referring to me as Sirius Black's daughter. It's just safer if I choose who gets to know."
"I guess that makes sense... I can't believe this. I have cousins." He stated, a giant smile gracing his features.
