"Get your bags, bitches! I'm in a rush here." She cupped her mouth to extend the volume in her voice."Yeah yeah whatever." Veronica slammed the car door shut and the rest of the gang was quick to hop in. Knowing Chandler was having her time of the month, only Veronica could actually talk to her without being smacked across the face. They ALL knew that.
"You feelin' okay? I got some BQ corn nuts." The bag of Corn Nuts was snatched from Veronica almost immediately and all she heard was the tearing of the bag.
"Okay..." Veronica squinted almost in disgust at the animalistic actions from Heather, "Your welcome."
It stayed silent despite the clearly salty tone from Veronica, asking for a thank you. Yeah, if you thought Heather was a mythic bitch before, nows the time to run. Not saying thank you was just a speck of lint on her attitude level so far.
"Im tired if these morality fighting snakes on this metaphorical plane!" Veronicas phone echoed.
"What the fuck are you watching?" Heather pulled the phone out of the other girls hand and peeked. It was a guy in a dramatic suit yelling at himself, who was dressed partly as a snake? This was confusing.
"Sanders Sides! I just started watching this guy and I'm intrigued."
"He's just talking to himself."
Veronica sighed, "Yeah— never mind you wouldn't get it."
"What- are you calling me dumb?" JD's hand gripped Heathers shoulder from the backseat.
"Calm down. Okay? Only 20 minutes to go." He sipped his slushee and slumped back into Heather McNamara. She was blushing, but he didn't notice a thing. No one also noticed Veronica sitting there with her jaw dropped. Something important must've happened in the video.
"Tch. Fine!" Chandler gripped the wheel and sped up. The silence was intense, but no one bothered to touch it. Heather's eyes twitched. Veronica's nails tapped. JDs hand brushed through his hair. It was clear as day everyone was anxious. The other two Heather merely melted into their seats.

Only 5 minutes left of the ride. You could see the beginning of the lake, but no one really had the energy to look out. What? It was 7:04 am, no one was prepared to wake up exactly. Poor Chandler driving the car looked like her knuckles were gonna fall off.
Veronica was reaching the end of her patience with Heather. They need to share a room during this trip or she'll never make any progress.
You see, Veronica has accepted the fact she likes Heather. One could say, she's no longer in denial. However, Heather still doesn't understand her feelings toward Veronica and subconsciously softens up around her. Being gay didn't even occur in her mind. She just "hated" Veronica, period. No second thoughts.
By now, they've made it to the lake. Heather was humming a tune— trying to calm herself— but Veronica joined in.
"Hey that's pretty good."
"No one asked you." Chandler snapped.
Veronica opened her mouth to speak again but the door next to her opened.
JD stood there with his arm leaning on the side of the car, "Come on. We're picking rooms." His cold demeanor was unusual. He wasn't being goofy or anything.
The dynamic duo was far too tired to argue. That tiredness also resulted in everyone picking their rooms first leaving Heather and Veronica. It was all going to plan. Well partially.
They silently entered the cabin and no one was there. Wait- no they heard Heather McNamara laughing. A collection of "s-stop! Hey— no! No not there!" Was her dialogue. It seemed she was getting tickled.
"Heathers gettin' feisty, eh?" Chandler elbowed Veronica.
"Oh shut up." Veronica acted mature, but sex jokes were the bane of her existence. In fact, she made her way to the restroom immediately and covered her mouth to stifle her laugh. The most iconic of laughs.
Coming back to clear her throat, Veronica let her face drop back to normal. Heather knew she'd been laughing. And of course this could be left in the dark, but Heather wasn't about to have her ultra super funny joke to be pushed over.
"Come on, Veronica. Laughing in the bathroom?" She smirked.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Veronica turned her head and sped-walk to the rooms. Well, emphasis on "the rooms" and not precisely "her room".
The first door she opened had a Heather Duke standing over Mac, collecting money and it looked like Mac had been crying— she was out of breath. It was probably laughter crying. Veronica just silently shut the door, avoiding any contact with whatever this was. It almost seemed illegal.
The second door she opened, she struggled to open. The culprit was JD. He was reading, but leaning against the door. Odd choice, but you do you. Walking in on someone reading and messing them up isn't really, peachy? Let's just say Veronica walked out with an extra bump on her head.
The third door. You would think, oh that's everyone. But we left Chandler in the living room. Guess what? This next room was closer to her over Veronica. And midst way through opening the door, she switched up to a vibrant red and, mind you she opened this with the confidence of someone who'd just escaped prison unknowingly. Veronica swung that door shut and was stuck with a half naked Heather picture in her head.
"WHAT THE FU—" Everyone heard Chandler. It wasn't even a question.
The slam of the door wasn't enough to mute her but it was enough to give Veronica time to run.
-
How dare Veronica walk in on her?! It was Veronica to stupid nobody. I mean it was a sight to see but damn. That was a bit of an invasion of her privacy.
Veronica was so stupidly gay for Heather. It had been clear as day for a while, but now it was just plain facts. After seeing that bod, she didn't do anything. She just took it all in and refused to defend herself.
Heather still wasn't gay. Totally not but you know, she wouldn't bring up that incident again.
"I hate you you know?" Heather spat, now fully clothed.
"Love you too. But let's enjoy the time we have here okay?" Veronica knew just how to piss Heather off. Not enough to make her genuinely angry, but just enough to get the face. Everyone knows The Face™️. And boy howdy when Heather did it...
"Piss off." She just leaned back and stared at the stars.
It was quite perfect you know? The brightly lit stars and the two sitting next to each other on the pier right on the edge of the lake.
"What an enigma you are." Veronica kept pushing.
"What the fuck is an enigma?"
"Nothing of your concern."
"Tell me or you'll regret it." Heather growled.
"Why—"
Soon enough Veronica was drenched in water. Yeah Heather pushed her into the lake.
"What the hell!?" She pushed the sopping wet hairs out of her face. Heather was just howling with laughter.
"I win."
