"I said what I said."
"But why? You two were finally getting along."
"Then it went too far. Veronica is nothing but a fellow classmate and supreme leader of the school. But I am the queen."
"Uh.. Heather.. you pulled a kokic-"
"What's that.? Whatever this isn't about that. Anyway it's lunch time." Chandler grabbed Mac's hand and stomped back.
Chandler's grip eventually loosened as they walked and Mac looked at her wrist for a short time before shoving it back into her dress pockets.
.
Meanwhile... Veronica was freaking out. Panicking. Utterly not ok. JD was patting her back while they sat on the couch in front of the TV. She had just yelled, begged, and argued with Chandler for what? Its not like they were together.
Veronica was going to continue an inner monologue when the door burst open.
Chandler made eye contact with Veronica was asolid .0000008 seconds and then immediately turned on her heel to the kitchen. The tension in this room is... a little too loud. It was like the air was screaming "make up and make out, then leave!"
"Ah... so the demon shows up." What the fuck JD.
"Ah... so the dude fucking Veronica makes another comment." Ouch. Veronica tried not to let that comment get to her. The two of them hadn't argued since... god since before Veronica slept with Heather.
"Mhm... sure. Hey what's the fuss between you two, you guys were just getting along." JD was poking it.
"None of your business," Chandler walked [LMAO I JUST LOOKED BACK AT THIS UNFINISHED CHAPTER FROM LIKE TWO MONTHS AGO IM- THIS IS SO BAD IM SORRY]
"I dunno.. I am a bit curious whether it be my business or not," JD curved his brows in a slightly confused expression.
"Heather." Veronica finally spoke.
"Veronica?" Chandler, didn't snap, per say, but you could tell she was a bit unstable. Her voice didn't contain the same hostility as it normally did.
The two made eye contact. On a normal day Chandler would make fun of Veronica's makeup job or Veronica would stick her tongue out at Chandler but, the room was stone cold. Who was going to apologize first? Who was... the bottom.
Veronica opened her mouth, but Chandler beat her to it.
"Nevermind, I'll just leave."
"But you're our-"
"I'll pay for a ride for you guys."Chandler slammed the door and Veronica was left in silence. That was, until the sound of a car beeping and dirt rolling interrupted, but only for a moment. Heather was gone. Gone until they met at school again, at least. What would she say then?
"...You alright?"
"She can't just sleep with me, make a gigantic show of being in a fake relationship with me, and give me these," She pulled down her collar to display a plethora of bruises, obviously hickeys, "And leave just because of something she herself proposed!"
JD frowned and ran a cold hand through his hair. He hadn't styled it yet today so bangs were sitting comfortably down on his forehead, partially covering his eyes. He began to think. They had such an interesting albeit mostly negative history but he was convinced they were in love. It would take time for them to talk it out, but he wasn't enjoying the fact that if he wanted to see it play out, he'd have to be patient.
"You're absolutely right, Veronica. Perhaps she's simply overwhelmed. Give her some time," That was all he could say. JD was too scared to give advice with the risk of the girl he was talking to lashing out on him. Unfortunately, it seemed she was to do just that.
"JD. What about how I feel in this situation? I might actually like this girl and she plays with my feelings just like that. It's not fair. She should come to me, it's only right," She turned her nose up in annoyance.
"I know, but do you really think Chandler would apologize first?"
Silence followed as a response that time.
"That's what I thought, go talk to her."
"I'm not ready!" She fumbled with her phone to check the time, although it was mostly to draw her attention away from JD's words for a moment.
"That's fine, but it needs to happen sometime."
Veronica groaned and threw her head back because she knew JD had a point. Should she chase Heather? No. She's been chasing Heather for far too long.

Rocks clinked together, making a small echo in the forest. They continued to hit each other, one even falling into the nearby river. The cause of this? Heather Chander, of course. She was supposed to be back at her house staring at the ceiling, but instead she didn't properly leave.
Guilt was eating at her heart and skin. Why did she push Veronica away? That was a rhetorical question.
Veronica is a threat. She was beautiful, smart, the perfect height and had smooth skin, she could go on. That was the very issue. Heather's undeniable attraction toward this girl would destroy her. Communication, for as popular a girl Heather was, was never her strong suit. Somewhere deep in her iron-cased heart, she wished Veronica would come back and pour her feelings out once again. A distant fantasy.
All of these thoughts gave Heather major fatigue. It was too stressful to think about. Leaning against a tree, her eyelids became heavy. So heavy, she couldn't lift them any longer.
The sun was sinking down, doing its daily dance with the moon, switching places.
Still asleep, Heather didn't hear the incoming growl of a bear. That was, until she did. A big, scruffy brown bear came lunging at her full force and she gave the most ear-piercing shriek that she didn't know was even possible.
Sprinting now, Heather squealed and made her way back to the cabin, or tried. Her feet were killing her as she kicked off the tight and "fashionable" shoes she was wearing for more agility. Each tree branch swung at her and ruined her poor hair, leaves and twigs making their new home right on top of her head.
"Veronica! Heather! Heather?!" She screamed. This bear was not giving up. She was so regretful of this choice to leave. Veronica would point and laugh, how embarrassing.
There she saw a wooden box shaped building with a roof and lights illuminating the windows. That was it. The excitement of seeing a safe space gave Heather an adrenaline boost and she barged inside. Locking the door, Heather let herself fall onto the couch and simply lay there. Not too much time passed and she was out like a light.
"Guys? Did one of you go outside? It's not safe, I saw a bear-" Veronica stopped herself. Staring at the very sight of a horribly messy Heather Chandler with a water cup in her hand.
"What.."
