Veronica's nails tapped gently against her desk, she was devising a plan to get Heather to confess to her. Surely despite all of the words she's said, Heather had felt something toward Veronica. Veronica wasn't stupid, she saw all of Heathers weak-points. Heather always stuttered when caught off guard or flustered. She also doesn't open up, or speak of her feelings. And she is easily softened when something cute or something of little threat does an action such as begging or cuddling.

Heather was also trying to make a plan for confession. Veronica was a spiky girl. She often spat out a sassy remark when in a battle of wits, or rolled her eyes and was filled with sarcasm. However, she was a pushover. If you badgered enough, or begged enough, she'd eventually give in. Through her head ticks, you see quite often when the two get close, Heather can precisely tell how nervous she is feeling. A fatal win on Heathers part in that regard.

They made sharp eye contact from across the room.

"Hi Heather." Veronica made a move and walked slowly to Heathers desk, leaning on it.

"You know, I got this invite on a date, I might just go." Veronica smiled and looked up to the ceiling.

Shock. That's what Heather was smacked in the face with. No! Veronica can't go out with anyone but Heather. Jealousy, a feeling Heather was willing to hold at the threat of Veronica seeing someone else. She had to convince her otherwise. Ah,but this is exactly what Veronica wanted. Veronica's plan that day was to make Heather invite her to a date over the made up person.

But the battle wits had already begun.

Heather Chandler was already thinking of the many possibilities she could come up with to prevent this "date" from happening. She could just abuse her power, or she could think logically. Nah, she'll just use the power she was given.

"I'm afraid I can't let you go, Sawyer." Her lips curled oddly into a smile.

"Oh, and why is that?"

"You're completely vulnerable all alone on a date like that. You agreed with me on sticking together, and I might even send JD to protect you, if that's what you want.."

"Hm? And this isn't for any other reason?" Veronica was trying her best here.

"No, unless you were expecting something?" Chandler was prepared. The tables were turning 180 degrees every time.

"Um, no, i was just curious.."

"Being curious is basically expecting something, Sawyer." Heather was growing ever so slightly impatient. Just a little bit.

"Well I wasn't expecting anything, and you know I just won't go anymore then." She'd given up.

"I must've really gotten under your skin if you cancel plans just like that.." Heather snapped her fingers and smirked.

"Wow! Sure.. I'm gonna go talk to JD if your gonna be like that." Veronica let her brows furrow. It was clear she was being passive aggressive.

Chandler flashed her eyes in confusion and success. She won and they both knew it. But still, Heather followed Veronica to JD and company. Veronica looked questionably at Heather but they just walked together anyway. Heather was always clever, just not really booksmart. She was quick witted and creative with insults, but she never bothered to focus in school.

"You two excited for winter break? Halloween was a nightmare." JD flashed a toothy grin and turned a page in his book.

"Hell yeah. I do not want to be stuck in this shit hole any longer." Chandler propped herself up and clenched a fist.

"Me too. But do you guys have any plans?" Veronica slithered up from behind Chandler.

"Nope, but you guys are always fun to hang around. Why don't we make some plans?" JD didn't look up, he just kept on reading. But the red and blue counterparts seemed to have lightbulbs above their heads. Yes! Now I don't have to ask her out.

"Sure, Heather you cool with it?" Veronica turned to see Heather with the same expression as her. She just giggled and avoided eye contact.

"Obviously. If I don't make plans for the winter I'd be bored out of my mind. And a plus is my dad just got a new credit card, I can steal it and we go max it out." Heather made a small cha-ching noise noise and let her hands form a making it rain gesture.

"Wow, very respectful and full of integrity you are." Veronica snipped. Disrespecting adults was something she hated to see.

"Oh come on. You know you want to try it." Chandler tipped her nose up and put her hands down. Come on! Free money in whatever you want? That's an easy win.

"No. I don't. And how about a vacation spot?" Veronica looked away and lightly stuck out her tongue at Heather.

"What are you? Five?" Heather stared in disbelief as she crossed her arms.

"Maybe. But I was thinking the beach?"

"Veronica, sweetie. We live in fucking Ohio."

"Alright ladies that's enough." JD closed his book and crunched his eyebrows together. These two have been bickering ever since they figured out they should stick together. They could not be in the same room alone.

It was always start with Veronica making a statement, and Heather snipping a salty remark at it, and Veronica trying to defend herself. Then it would drown itself out by them just insulting each other.

"What's your idea then genius?" They snapped their heads to JD and both were equally intimidating. The shady ass bitch face on Chandler combined with Veronica's cold, bleak, dead look really felt like you were being stabbed. Too bad they couldn't get along.

"Um," His knees buckled, "Why not a lake trip? Private cabin, pretty waters, wild forest... seems pretty good to me."

"Oh actually that sounds really nice." Veronica tilted her head upwards to think. I do this all the time tbh.

"Yeah whatever. My dad's got a few motor boats near that one lake.." Chandler glanced at her nails which she thought was far more important over the two lunatics.

"You don't even know what lake—" Veronica twisted her face in disgust. How could something like that not matter to her? On second thought maybe she doesn't want Heather to confess, she makes no sense.

"Yeah yeah I'm a spoiled brat or something. Uh next week? My parents are out on a fucking business trip. Like, it's winter break! We need to stick together.." She drifted off. Parents were a touchy subject.

"I," Veronica felt bad. Her family was always together on Christmas. She couldn't control the hand that she let fall onto Heathers knee. "You can come to my house this year, you know if you want—"

Veronica whispered in her ear that last part, quickly pulling away. But Heather just kept her lips parted slightly. It was a sweet action, but it was Veronica! They hated each other.

A laugh escaped her mouth to hide any sort of emotion. It kind of hurt Veronica but midst laugh she whispered, "I'll be there at 11 am." You could see a touch of red on her neck but Veronica ignored it and bubbled up.

"So anyway, lake trip!"
