He twirls me around. I stay still, not hugging back or showin the same enthusiasm as my sudden fiancé, he squeezes my petite body and I stay completely stiff, "I love you so much." He whispers, he pulls my face close to his preparing himself for a kiss. I turn my head, blocking the kiss. He looks at me with confusion. "I thought we're good?" "You thought wrong." I say bluntly "Noni, you said yes, that means everything is oka-" "No everything is not okay." I snap, attitude definitely ruining this suppose to be special moment. "Do you want me to leave?" His voice quiet and kind, I look down at his chest, I nod slowly, he slowly sets me down with an exhale. He cups the side of my face into his large, soft, hands. He brings his visually perfect face down and places a soft caring kiss on smooth heek that is currently not uccupied by his hand. "I love you." He whispers so soft, only I could hear. I can feel his sadness and disappointed surfing through the air.. he turns slowly on his heel walking back to his facy shmancy sleek black car.

"What was that about?" Charlie boasts, I look over my shoulder at him, "He just asked you to marry him, you said YES. And you tell him to leave?" He states, eyebrows furrowing together, an expression that screams 'Are you fucking mad?!' As he would say.

All of Charlie's family stand in thr background, their faces show that they aee still trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

"Yeah I know." I sigh rubbing my temples, trying to boycott the migraine I can feel coming on. "You need to talk to him." He says sounding racinal. "Tomorrow." I protest "Noni yo-" "Charlie." I interrupt "You're my best friend, you should understand." "I do understand! But the poor guy just purposed and you tell him to go home!" God, Charlie I love you but I'm about to punch you in the face "If you understand then get off my ass about it yeah?" I say, holding back the anger rapidly erupting inside of me. "You're a cold person." He spits viciously "... Shut up." I snap, "Okay guys, just calm down." Julie, Charlie's mom says stepping in between the both of us, we stare at each other for an awkwardly long time, she moves so that she is standing next to me, we murdering each lther with our eyes "Well! You are being really insensitive about the whole thing." He states, showing me a side of him I've never seen before

"I don't care what he did. You're being a heartless bitch, it's your fault he's drinking so much, get a fucking life, no wonder he left you." His words spewed from his mouth like venom, his whole face shoots awake realizing what he just said, his mouth going wide "Noni I am so sor-" Julies hand whips across her face in the blink of an eye, cutting his statement short, his whole head snaps to the side, staying there.

I feel like I just now had been hit by a bus, and then stomped on. Charlie, my best friend, had just said the meanest words I have ever heard, his words stung more than James's. And I thought that was impossible.

"You shut you bloody mouth right now! Never talk to a woman like that, especially someone like her!" She shouts at her son who has a slowly turned his head to the front, facing the both of us. A bright red handprint slowly appearing on his pale face. "She is your best friend.  Who has always been there besides us?" His mom bursts, scolding her son, who right now looks sick to his stomach. His family going silent.

"I know you're not that stupid to actually just say that." His dad says in the most angry intimidating tone, yet he was so calm. He walks to stand to my other side "I cannot believe you just said that." I say softly in disbelief, looking him shyly in the eyes "Noni, I am go sorry." He closes his eyes, his head dropping to the floor "I think it's time for me to go home." I announce softly. "No, Noni please just let me exp-" "You don't have to explain anything. I heard what you had to say, I don't want to hear anymore." I shake my head, "I'll drive you home." Julie shakes her head at her son.

She grabs my hand leading me to the front door, everyone parts crating a little gap for the both of us.

Julie helps me to grab all of my stuff, she lends me a suit case to bring all of my gifts home in. I grab my phone and we walk back outside Charlie and his dad are off to the side, his dad speaking quietly and calmly towards him, Charlie looked so depressed with the words he is being told.

He sees the both of us and his eyes shoot open, his dad looks back at us, Charlie tries to walk towards us but his dad caught his forearm and pulled his back in front of him, Charlie then put one hand on his dad's left shoulder, he pushed him away in a nonaggressive manner, running past him with his now clear lean way.

We quickly walk to her car, she unlocks it and we I set the bag down in the back seats.

I grab the door to shut the backseat door, but before I could Charlie's big ass fucking hand grabs the handle.

"Noni please. Just listen to me!" He says, I walk away, veering away from him to get to the passenger side but he grabs my hand, "Stop!" He shouts "No! You stop!" I snap at him, "Why can't you listen to me?!" He barks in my face, anger filling every inch of his body. "You didn't listen to me!" I shout back, equally as pissed off. He just starres at me, not able to say anything in his defense.

"Let me go." I say sternly, wanting the burning sensation he is causing to my sensitive flesh to stop. "Not until you listen to me." He begs "Charlie. Let the girl go." One of his aunts say. "Are you ever going to give me a chance to explain myself?" He says "I don't know." I respong honestly.

His entire face drops and so do the tears, he breaks down in front of me and it's all my fault.

I pull him into my arms, he stands there stiffly, his hands remain at his sides and he burries his face in my hair, sobbig his eyes out.

"Charlie. Stop." I say, beginning to tear up myself. "I-I c-can-c-can't." He chokes on his tears "I have to go." I say after a while of listening to his soft wimpers and strong sobs. He's breaking my heart and I can't take it anymore. "No!" He cries harder "I'm so sorry!" He bawls, wrapping his arms around my shoulders holinding me tight. "I have to go home." I say, beginning to cry myself, "Please don't." He begs, I shake him off of me and get into the car.

Julie gets in as well, staring it, we begin to pull forward. I look in the side mirror, Charlie; watching us leave. He ours his hands above his head, walking back to the house.

After a while of silence she speaks up "He didn't mean that." "I know." I nod my head, looking straight ahead. "I know he messed up, and did something god awful, but he really doesn't mean it." She explains "I know. But I can't handle anymore of this." I say, wiping a tear away. "I know hon. You just need to go home, go to bed, and just sleep." She tells me.

Minutes later we pull up to my drive way. My car sits there, perfectly parked in the driveway, signaling that a certain James Graham is in the building. "If you need me, please call." She says concerned, "I will." I look into the big window that makes up one wall of the living room, seeing James sitting lazily on the couch, drinking a glass of water. At least I hope it's water.

"Thank you, so much. For everything. I love you so much." I say, looking her in her beautiful eyes, Charlie has to thanks for. "You don't have to say thank you. Anything I'd do for you. I love you too." She smiles "Charlie's going to ask about you. What am I suppose to tell him?" She asks "Tell him if he wants to come over tomorrow he can." I shrug, not knowing what else to say. "Alright. Well, Merry Christmas." She smiles, flashing her perfect teeth. "Merry Christmas." I reply.

I grab the bag from the back and walk up to my apartment door. I look back and she waves, I wave back and open the door.
