We made it to Beacon Hills in record time, much to everyone else's dismay. We only stopped once to eat and have a bathroom break. Normally I would be all mother-hen-concerned about them all... but not today. Everyone was nearly falling over from exhaustion- but at this point I was over it. I needed to see Liam and Peter. The phone calls hadn't done the job. I had to see that they were okay with my own two eyes. My alpha fox was going mad with the idea of them being hurt, of them having gotten hurt in the first place. The protective instinct was nearly overwhelming.
When we finally reached the loft after 25 hours of straight driving and breaking several speed limits- I could barely contain myself. I threw the Jeep in park and shoved my door open with my fox strength. I bounded up the stairs quicker than I had ever moved before. I had to get to my pups. I burst through the massive black door of the loft and looked around wildly until my eyes landed on Liam. He was currently shoving an entire piece of pizza into his mouth at once, but I ignored it and slammed my body into his, wrapping my arms around him and breathing hard.
"Oh Liam! Thank god!" I exclaimed happily, taking in his warm brown sugar and allspice scent.
"Uhh- hi mo- I mean Stiles. I'm okay," he tried to reassure me. But I didn't release him and he sighed, rubbing my back while I ran a hand through his hair. I kissed his hair gently and finally let him go, but kept my hands on his shoulders as I inspected him.
"Stiles, he's okay," Scott said gently, laying his hand on my shoulder. His eyes were glowing their alpha red and I knew mine were their new alpha fox crimson orange too. I nodded and brought my face to Liam's neck to nip the skin quickly. My puppy. Then I turned to scan the room for my other injured pup. Where's Peter?
"Peter!" I said in a relieved voice.
I found him laying on the sofa with his eyes closed. He looked exhausted, but otherwise okay. I immediately checked his body over for injuries- and upon finding none- pounced on him. I inhaled his charcoal and mint scent deeply, satisfying my alpha fox. My pups are okay. The relief was nearly painful as it washed over me. He peeled his eyes open and looked at me with a small smile.
"Well hello there foxy," he said in a gravelly voice, in stark contrast to his usually sultry tone.
"Are you alright?" I asked anxiously. Physically, I couldn't find anything wrong with him. But maybe it was something else.
"I'm just fine. Only a little tired," he said, his eyes sliding shut again. "We both have werewolf healing- remember?"
"Yes," I answered impatiently. "But most werewolves have difficulty healing when they're shot with wolfsbane!" I scolded, my arms tightening around him.
"Stiles, we're both okay, everyone's okay," Peter said in a comforting tone. He stroked my back and I laid my head on his chest for a moment. He's okay. They're both okay. I turned to his neck and nipped at his skin, just as I had Liam's. "I didn't know you considered me pack," he said shyly. I blinked. I had never heard Peter say anything shyly before.
"Of course I do you idiot!" I said in exasperation. I perked up when I caught my favourite scent entering the room- forest and mint.
"Uhh- why is my mate cuddling with my uncle?" Derek asked the room as he stepped inside.
He was immediately attacked by Scott. The alpha threw his arms around Derek and squeezed him tightly. He put his face to Derek's neck and I knew Scott was nipping at his skin.
"I'm so glad you're okay," he whispered. Derek smiled and returned the hug. Scott pulled back a little and looked at him. "So you can turn into a wolf now?" He asked with a chuckle.
