"Are we ready?" Stiles asked excitedly, and I tried to refrain from rolling my eyes at him. I gave him the are-you-kidding-me look instead. "What? I like road trips!" He said defensively. This time I did roll my eyes.
"Yup!" Malia said cheerfully from the backseat.
"To infinity, and beyond!" Isaac said with a giggle.
I raised my eyebrows as I slowly turned in my seat to look at him. "Did you just quote Toy Story?" I asked flatly.
"Yes?" He answered it like a question.
"That's it! Let me out. I'm riding with Dean and Castiel." I said seriously, putting my hand on the door handle. Stiles locked the doors in response.
"Oh- Like there'd be less movie references in that vehicle!" Stiles snorted.
"Aw! Let him go Stiles. Then I could totally say 'so long partner'," Isaac said, breaking into a fit of laughter. I groaned loudly.
"I can't believe that I'm friends with you people," I said under my breath. But we're in a vehicle of were-creatures... everyone heard me.
"Family actually, so you've got no choice in the matter," Stiles said brightly.
"If it makes you feel any better, I don't understand what anyone's saying right now," Malia said with a shrug. I wish I could be so uninformed.
"You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity!" Isaac quoted again.
I turned around quickly and gave him a dangerous glare. "Isaac, I swear to god... one more Toy Story quote and I'll rip your throat out- with my teeth," I hissed.
"You absolutely will not," Stiles said sternly. I gave Isaac a silent look that said 'I will'. He smiled at me weakly. Good, I'd gotten my point across. I turned back to Stiles, a mischievous grin on my face. I faced front before I said my piece.
"I find your lack of faith disturbing," I said smugly. I watched for Stiles' reaction out of the corner of my eye.
Stiles froze and slowly turned his head to stare at me, a delighted grin breaking across his face.
"Did you just-," he started excitedly, cutting off his question when I winked. "When did you watch Star Wars without me?!" He gasped, offended now.
"I didn't. I just looked up 'Star Wars quotes' so that I would know when to roll my eyes," I said with a smirk. Which was mostly true. I didn't need to though, Stiles always used the same voice and goofy grin when he was referencing something.
"Well- I'm both disappointed and happy at the same time. I will make you watch Star Wars with me," he vowed. I didn't doubt him, but I would do my damnedest to prevent it.
"What's Star Wars?" Malia asked from the back, and I groaned at her question. I knew what was coming next. My mate immediately launched into a full blown description of the films and I wanted to jump out the window.
"She had to ask..." I whispered, staring out the window moodily. Stiles didn't pause in his description, but shot me a smile and grabbed my hand.
I kept looking out the window and hid my own smile. I actually loved listening to him ramble about all of his favourite movies. It was a wonderful experience, seeing that excited gleam in his eye. His entire person lit up when he talked about the things he loved, and I could listen to it for the rest of eternity happily. His arms were moving around wildly as he recounted his favourite movies, and it was a miracle we weren't swerving all over the road. I looked into the backseat to see Isaac and Malia watching him with fascination and fondness. I wasn't the only one that enjoyed his happy, long winded explanations. His pups adored him. I snorted to myself- a few months ago both of them were love interests, and now he acts like they're his babies. Wolf packs are a funny thing.
