"Y/N I think we should go back. The rain is picking up again, I don't want to get sick."
"You won't get sick Chenle." I rolled my eyes at him. "It's a summer storm it's not like the water is cold."
I carefully climbed down the steep incline leading to the river.
"I think I dropped it on the other side last night."
Chenle hesitated and watched as I climbed on to the large fallen tree branch that we used as a bridge to cross the river. The water almost made me slip but I managed to regain my balance.
"The water in the river looks higher than usual." He pleaded. "Why don't we come back tomorrow instead, I'm sure your bracelet will still be there."
"No! what if it gets lost forever?"
"It's just a bracelet, why don't you just buy a new one?"
"You can't buy this bracelet........it's special." I muttered.
I started to carefully cross the river but stopped halfway when I noticed Chenle wasn't following behind me.
I turned back and saw him standing at the beginning of the tree branch with his eyes glued on me.
"Are you coming or not?" I was growing impatient with him.
He looked around and then looked back at me. "The river looks dangerous right now, lets comeback tomorrow."
I rolled my eyes and continued crossing without him. If he wasn't going to come with me then he could stay on the other side till I came back. I jumped down on the other side and turned back to look at Chenle.
"Give me 15 minutes and I'll be back." I yelled loud enough so he could hear me from the other side.
"Don't take too long." He yelled back.
I woke up to the blaring sound of my alarm clock.
Was I dreaming?
I sat up and looked at my surroundings. I must have been so tired yesterday that I didn't even remember falling asleep.
I quickly changed into my uniform and rushed to school even though it was still early. Suyeon had messaged me yesterday and I promised that I would meet her at the schools roof top garden. When I arrived she was already there waiting for me on the bench swing.
"Hey." I greeted her and sat down on the opposite end.
"Hi." She replied matching the awkward atmosphere.
We sat in silence not saying anything to each other for about 5 minutes.
"Im sorry."
"Im sorry."
We both blurted out at the same time causing us both to laugh.
"No I should be apologizing." I finally apologized again. "I shouldn't have gotten mad at you and ignored you like a 5 year old, I was acting like a bratty kid."
Suyeon smiled, "No, I shouldn't have pushed you to do something you didn't want to. I was worried about you but that doesn't give me a right to treat you the way I did."
I stuck my pinky finger out. "Let's promise that if we ever get mad at each other again we will talk instead of ignore each other."
She interlocked her finger with mine and gave me a hug. "I promise."
"So are we going to talk about yesterday?" She questioned me when we released from the hug.
