Isabelle's pov

I've been holding my phone for the past one hour, deliberating  whether or not to contact Ray. Adeya is three now and she's really so smart for her age, she sees other kids her age with dad's and wonders why hers isn't here. I have to set my pride aside for my daughter
**phone rings**
I hear that familiar husky voice
R:"hello"
I:"hello Ray, it's Isabelle"
There's a long silence before he speaks up
R:"Isabelle... I, I, How're you?"
I:"I'm fine Ray. How're you?"
R:"I'm good"
I:"I got your new number from your mum, I hope you're not offended?"
R:"No! I'm not. I'm thrilled actually. Where are you Isabelle? Just tell me and I'll be there,... this is a European number. I need to see, sit and talk with you."
I:"Ray...okay thats fine. I think its long overdue anyway. I'll forward you the details"
R:"thanks Isabelle and I'm sorry"
I:"yeah"
I hang up. My heart is beating really fast in my chest, my hands are shaky. I still love him, no matter how much I lie to myself I know that I still do. I type all the details and forward to him.
Next I facetime Nadia and Jess, I tell them about my conversation with Ray and they tell me they're so proud of me for making that step.
A few minutes later after my call with the girls I get a message notification and it's from Ray. He's informing me he'll be here next week. Now I can't wait to see him, I don't think I should tell Adeya, I'll just let her be surprised. She'll be so excited.
Now the real question is if I want Ray back in my life. But what if he has started a family and moved on? Mel would've told me right? No she wouldn't because his name is forbidden around me. Shit!
I won't overthink things I just need to watch how everything plays out.
Top of the list, I want Adeya to meet her father. I don't want her growing without him. I need to finish up my work, so I can hurry home to my daughter.

When I get home, her nanny has already gotten her ready for bed. So I tuck her in and read her, her favourite bedtime story. Once I'm done reading to her, she says her prayers, which is by the way too long, but I have to sit through the whole thing. I think I'm doing this parenting thing right,i hope.
I kiss her forehead and tell her goodnight. One of the things Adeya and I have in common is our fear of the dark, so I leave her night light on. Her room is opposite mine, sometimes we have sleepovers, It could be in her room or mine.
I head to my room and bring out my favourite book blackbird. I read it every opportunity I get and I've read the entire thing over and over, he might suck at a lot of things, but he's a really good writer,i give that to him.
Once I'm done reading I say my prayers and go to bed.
