KAZUYA'S POV ~

The dark haired male would pass the length of the room and stop, pace, stop and resume pacing. Turning to look at the screen monitors every-time he stopped.

It had been two days since the incident his assistant Lin had reported, a door appearing out of nowhere, when Lin had described the ordeal; indeed. It didn't sound like something they'd usually encounter.
So what kind of spirit could cause this something like this? It was all starting to make no sense. No evidence they had linked up.

Kazuya mindlessly chewed his bottom lip and set his hands onto the window sill, gazing into the distance. Nothing but endless fields of grass, trees and various farm stock.
He found himself letting out a frustrated sigh, the amount of spiritual activity in this house was unimaginable, so where was it coming from?

And the pictures Lin had presented to him on the phone. In every image the pictures were completely fine. Every single one, not a sign of anything out of the ordinary. Even when he'd taken a picture of the door, nothing appeared.
This was going to be a tricky case, and he couldn't help but feel. That it was connected too someone or something in this house. It's usually the reason a soul doesn't pass on after the body becomes deceased.

"Children cause problems when they don't get what they want, they cry and carry on like it's the end of the world." Kazuya remarked, not once did he take his eyes off the field ahead of him.

"Reminds me of the case at the church when Mei became possessed." Lin commented in reply, as Kazuya would stare out the window, he too wouldn't take his gaze off the computer screen.

"You're not feeling light headed anymore after what happened?" Kazuya asked, completely changing the conversation, something Lin never questioned but would simply answer.

"No. I've been feeling just fine."

"Good... And the pictures, no matter how many times you re-check them, nothing shows up?" Kazuya asked after a moments silence.

"Nothing, not even an orb of any sort, shape or form." The assistant replied, tapping the enter key to switch what camera was being watched.

Kazuya made no reply, simply stared out the window, he hadn't noticed the small dam before, he could see four figures moving about, those four he recognized as Mei, John, Monk and Ayako. Nothing much was happening with the four, so he allowed his vision to trail off elsewhere over the vast landscape.
His eyes settling on the family church, a very old fashioned church built from stone with a dark figure in the window.
A dark figure in the window, Kazuya didn't do so much as flinch, he just stared like he'd never seen it at all. Taking in every possible detail about it.

It was female, short, only young. His assumptions had been right. It was a child indeed.

"Lin. Have we set cameras up in the church?" He asked, even now watching closely.

"No we didn't have enough power leads to reach that far." Lin replied, finally looking up from his screen at his boss, "Why?"

"We're going to need to take a trip to buy some extension cords then, I think we just found where our ghost resides."

TAKIGAWA'S (MONK) POV ~

Monk sat further up near the dam, watching Mei and John staring at the water, they were currently having a competition to see who would spot the first fish, childish.

But still, he thought it was great that John got along so well with everyone. He nudged Ayako who was sitting next to him, fanning herself. He quietly leaned forward and picked up a small smooth stone, throwing it underarm over their heads into the water, of course neither of them noticed it go over until it hit the water.

"I'm calling dibs on that one John!" Mei cried, popping her head up like a meerkat.

"Awwh noway." John replied, "How do you know that was a fish anyway. I didn't see it." He said.

"It wasn't a fish guys, it was Monk trying to trick you both." Ayako blurted, giving the man next to her an evil grin. Monk bumped her with his shoulder.

"Buzz kill." Monk accused. "Geez it's hot out here John." He then complained, stretching his arms behind his head and falling back.

"Don't lay in the dirt Monk." Ayako scolded, slapping her hand on his stomach, causing Monk to curl into a little ball and roll onto his side, pretending he was in agony. Letting out unrealistic crys of pain, which didn't at all convince her.
She only raised an eyebrow and resumed fanning herself, whilst John and Mei giggled at his little performance.

"Don't roll in it either." She said carelessly.

"You're a big bully Ayako." Monk sulked, but secretly he was grinning whilst rubbing his entire palm into the dirt preparing to aim straight for her face with it.

"I'm sure you'll live Monk, it's wasn't that..."

Monk turned over quickly and began rubbing the dirt into her cheek. Monk started laughing, but of course his plan to run away didn't last long. Ayako had him by the shirt, staring him with a glare so terrifying he literally started screaming for mercy as she picked up handfuls of red dust and started to peg it at him.

MEI'S POV ~

Mei laughed at the two adults tackling each-other into the dirt, Ayako seemed to be winning though. She smiled and looked back at John. Who was smiling, but he wasn't paying attention to what they were doing, he was staring into the water.

She tilted her head to the side thoughtfully, studying his expression. Something about the look in his eyes just didn't fit the expression.

She turned her head back around again when hearing footsteps, Monk had managed to break free and was now running for his life, Ayako at his heels.

"Never thought I'd see the day when Ayako would run." Mei remarked, looking back at John, giggling.

John looked up at her and smiled, "yeah. I think Monk likes getting on her nerves. My brother used to do it our aunt all the time." The priest informed her.

"Hey um, John... I know it's kind of personal. But, why is it your family grew up in this house if your parents aren't here?" Mei asked, this earned something finally from John, but still it was unreadable. She stared into his blue eyes, sadness. That's what it was.

"Is it something you don't want to talk about?" Mei asked, although she was curious.
"Actually... I don't remember them much." John finally replied, breaking the depressing silence. "They passed away in a house fire. That's all I know."

Mei looked at him, she felt a tight feeling in her throat and chest. She knew her parents... But maybe it was less painful for John because he didn't know them.

"After that our grandparents took us all in here, I'm the youngest in the family. They didn't all agree with my ambition to become an exorcist at first, but I pursued it and they just had to accept that." John said, ending the brief story with a soft smile.

Mei looked at her, never in her life had she just wanted to hug someone so much. That she just did, gently wrapping her arms around him, at first she gained no response from the blonde, she could only assume he was shocked.
But he eased into her hug and too returned it gently, "It's okay Mei... I've lived with it this long." He told her.

"Sometimes it just feels better to know someone would be there to hug you if ever you just needed it... Just because you're a boy doesn't mean you can't cry on someones shoulder." Mei replied, shifting back from him, giving him a reassuring smile.

John nodded, "yeah..." He replied quietly, "you're right."
But although he knew the pain wasn't about the fact that his parents were gone, or because he never knew them.
He felt almost as if, there was something missing, something important.
