Without thinking once I stood up and walked towards her but before me, someone else got to her and I stopped in my tracks.
"Oh my God. You're suicidal." Stacy's high pitch voice said.
Crystal's eyes widened and she quickly pulled her sleeves down and hid her hand away from everyone's sight. Crystal gulped as Stacy shot daggers at her.
"Why would you cut your wrist, you psycho." She said and my eyes buldged out of their sockets.
Crystal's face looked horrified. She stared at Stacy with wide eyes as tears pricked at the corner of her eyes.
"Stacy, will you shut up?" I said angrily as I approached them.
"Oh. Hey, Aiden." Her voice softened and she batted her eyelashes at me, making me gag.
"Who gave you the right to interfare in her personal matters?" My voice was still harsh. My blood was boiling when I saw Crystal controlling her sobs.
"Who does that?" Stacy raised her eyebrows and pointed at Crystal. "You have no fucking right to judge anybody. She can do whatever she wants." Stacy's jaw dropped and she stared at me like I've grown two heads.
I walked towards Crystal and gathered her things. "Let's go." I whispered and she stood up, nodding. I took hold of her tray and she slung her bag over her shoulder.
"Show's over." I looked over at the people who were looking our way. They quickly looked away.
"Stay the hell away from her." I gave a stern look to Stacy and exited the cafeteria with Crystal.
"I never wanted anyone to know but now the whole school knows." She shut her eyes tightly as tears fell from her eyes.
"Hey. Don't cry." I dropped the tray on the nearby slab and got closer to her.
"I don't want people to look at me like I'm a.....suicidal person." More tears fell from her eyes and she gasped for air. Seeing her like that broke my heart.
"Crystal, I'll never let these people get to you. I'll never let Stacy or anyone talk to you like that again. I promise." I said and she looked up at me with red puffy eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" She asked. I gupled nervously. I couldn't find right words to tell her. I knew I couldn't tell her that I liked her. It was too soon...maybe, and I didn't want her to run away from me.
"You're being nice to me since day one. I've heard a lot about you that you don't give two shits about any girl and that you've never care for any girl like you care for me." That was true. I had never cared for any girl like I cared for Crystal. Like I said before, Crystal was different from everybody. She neend help but she didn't show it. I liked her alot but it was... complicated.
"Please, don't hurt me." She whispered and my eyes widened. "What! No, I would never hurt you. Why did you think that?"
"Because.. whoever I trusted broke my trust. I don't know what your intentions are or why you're being so nice to me. When I first got in this school I was determined to keep things to myself because I really don't want anyone to break me again when I let my guards down. I'm not used to people caring for me and being nice to me for no reason." She was hurt. Her voice was broken. She sobbed as she asked me why I was being so nice to her.
"Crystal, I need you to know one thing that I will never hurt you and I do not have any bad intentions, okay? I just... want to help you out and be your friend. Please, trust me I'll never hurt you. I'm not like the people you're talking about." My voice was soft as I talked to her. Her breath slowed down as she looked up at me.
"I just want to help you. I can see how broken you are and I hate to see you like this. Trust me, Crystal."
"O..okay. I don't know why I'm doing this." She mumbled to herself. I could see right through her. I could see how fragile and vulnerable she was. She was broken and I wanted to help her put her pieces back and see her happy.
"Aiden, please don't break my trust." She whispered between her sobs.
