"Mom!" I yelled as I entered the house. I dropped my bag on the floor as I walked towards the living room.

"Mom!" I yelled again, hoping to get any answer but there was pon drop silence. I reached the living room and my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when I saw dad sitting there with his legs up in the coffee table.

"What are you doing home this early?" I asked. He looked up at me and narrowed his eyes.

"This is my house and I can be here whenever I want." His voice was cold like always.

"Whatever." I mumbled and ran my hand through my hair. I exited the living room and wanted the kitchen. "Mom!" I yelled as my eyes roamed around the place in search of her.

I started to walk towards her room but that was when dad stopped me. "She is not here." My face turned towards him.

"Where is she then?" I asked.

"She has gone to a friend's house." His words left me confused. Friends? I had never heard of any friend of mom's.

"Friend? I don't think she has any friend in this city. She hardly ever leaves home. " It was hard to digest that she had stepped out of that house. It had been a really long time since she went out. She even didn't do the grocery herself. It seemed like she never actually liked getting out of this house. And having a friend seemed totally odd.

"I've told you once and I'm not going to repeat myself." His eyes turned back towards the tv. Anger started to build inside of me but I tried to calm myself down. I turned on my heals and started to walk towards my room.

"Aiden, come here. I want to talk to you." I froze in my spot when I heard dad's voice. He wanted to talk to me? It had been a long time since we had an actual talk. He always just glared at me or ordered me around or was too busy to even notice me.

I slowly started to walk towards the sofa and took a seat opposite from him.

He put his legs off the table and leaned forwards, interwining his fingers and looking at me.

"I want to know about your activities." He said.

"Activities?" I raised an eyebrow. He nodded and leaned back on the sofa.

"What do you do after school? What are you interested in and all that." He said and I nearly choked on air. He wanted to know about me?

To say that I was confused was an understatement. Dad never asked me about my interests or activities. He was too busy to give a shit about me and my interests.

"Why are you suddenly interested in my activities?" I asked, trying to show him how annoyed I was.

"It's because I'm your father." He sarcastically said as if I didn't know.

"I didn't know that. Since when does my father care about my interests?"

"Listen here, Aiden. I really don't want to argue with you. Lets cut the crap and come straight to the point. I want you to start coming with me to the office I want you to take part in the business because I'll be handing it over to you after your graduation."

My eyes stretch wide as I tried to process his words in my head. "Excuse me? Who said I want to do business? I don't want to give all my time to business and get so involved to even forget about my own family, just like you did."

His jaw clenched as he stared at me with...hatred in his eyes. Yes, he was beginning to hate me.

"How dare you say that? You'll continue this business. It's a family business and you can not say no to it."

"I don't really care about this. I'd rather do something I like for a living and be happy, than to do this family business and not like it even a single bit." My eyes bored into his.

"I'm not asking for your opinion. I'm telling you that you will continue this business weather you like it or not!"

"I don't give a shit about what you say. I'll do what I want!" I yelled and stood up to leave.

Once I was in my room I shut the door angrily behind me and layed down in the bed. I took out my phone and my angr started to drown down when I saw Crystal's message.

Thank you for letting me sit with you guys today. It was nice spending time with you guys :)

A small smile formed on my lips as I typed back a message before putting my phone on the side table.

I couldn't sleep that day. I had too much on mind. I needed to know where mom was, I needed dad to stop pretending to be interested in my activities just when he needed something from me. I didn't even want him around!
