"Aiden!" I looked up and saw Cameron running towards me.
"Thank God you're here!" I breathed out and stood up.
"Where is she?" He asked as he put his hand on my shoulder.
"Inside." I pointed towards the door to my left where the doctors took her earlier.
"What happened to her?" He asked, inspecting my sweaty and panicked face.
"I don't know. I got home and I saw her...unconscious on the floor." I shut my eyes as my shaking hand wipped the sweat off my forehead.
"Hey, it's okay. She'll be alright. Don't worry." He enveloped me in a hug. "Don't worry." He slowly rubbed my back, trying to calm me down.
"Are you with the patient?" A voice called out and I quickly looked to my side to see a doctor standing there, looking at me.
"Yes. She my mom." I walked towards him. "How's she?"
"There's nothing to worry about. You got her here on time. She hadn't been taking her medicines properly and that's why she fell unconscious. This can be serious next time so make sure she take her meds on time." The doctor said and I sighed in relief.
"Okay. Thank you, doctor." He nodded and left.
"Look, she's okay. Go to her." Cameron gripped my shoulder and turned me towards him. "Don't mention anything about your father." He said and I nodded.
"Mom?" I whispered when I entered the room and saw her lying on the hospital bed with needles inside her hand.
I approached her and sat on the chair beside the bed. I saw at her pale face and her weak figure.
"What have you done." I whispered to myself, thinking about dad.
I slowly took mom's hand in mine and looked at her beautiful face. She was totally beautiful but she was tired. I knew she was tired of everything going on with her. I didn't know why she wouldn't go away and start a new life. She deserved to be treated good. Dad didn't deserve a woman like her. She deserved so much better.
My phone vibrated in my pocket and I took it out to see Crystal's message. I totally forgot to tell her about mom.
Aiden, how's your mom? What happened?
I quickly typed her a message and shut of my phone when I felt mom stirring in her bed.
"Mom." I whispered and scooted closer to her, taking her hand in mine once again.
"Aiden." She spoke lightly. "I'm here, mom." I kissed her forehead and saw her smiling slowly.
"How are you, baby?" She asked me.
"I'm fine. How are you feeling?" I asked.
"I'm okay. Don't worry I'm better now." She smiled but I she was faking it just so I wouldn't be worried.
"Why weren't you taking your medicines, mom?"
"I kept forgetting." She said. My eyebrows raised as I looked at her. "How could you forget that, mom? You know how important they are for your health. You can't just skip then or forget to take them." I wanted to hug her and cry in her arms and wanted to tell her how much she means to me and how much I loved and cared for her.
"Aide, I forgot. Why would I skip them?"
"Right. I'm sorry." I rubbed my face with my hands. "I will take the responsibility of your meds now. I'll give them to you. You just can't forget them anymore."
"You go to school." She said with a small smile.
"Then.. I'll call you and remind you to take them."
She smiled as her hand touched my cheek.
"I love you, Aiden."
"I love you too, mom. Get some rest."

"Hello? Aiden, how's your mom?" Crystal asked as soon as she picked up the phone.
"She's okay now. Thank God I got her here on time."
"What happened?" She asked with concern.
"She wasn't taking her medicines on time. Now I'll make sure she takes them."
"Take care of her and yourself Aiden. I wanted to stop by the hospital but you know Davis wants me home by 4 no matter what."
"I know, Crys. It's okay. Just take care, alright? I'll text you when I get home."
"Dude?" Cameron appeared from nowhere.
"I have to go home. Ryan pulled some kid's pants down in school and now I have to go talk to the principal. I seriously hate looking after these two. They get in trouble alot." He huffed. "Call me if you need anything." He added.
"It's alright, dude. Go take care of it." I chuckled and after a fist bump he left.
I didn't have many friends or people around me but I was happy and thankful for the once I got. I was thankful for those who actually cared for me. I didn't actually need dad to take care of me and mom. I was enough for her and I knew I could take the best care of mom. I just wished for helpful and understanding friends and that's what I got.
