"Hey, bookworm." I said as I sat down beside Crystal who had her face in a book.

"Seriously?" She chuckled.

"Yupp." I smiled at her. "How's your mom?" She asked.

"She's good actually. It's been two weeks now and I think she's actually getting better. She isn't careless about her meds anymore."

"That's great."She smiled.

"How are you?" I asked and she nodded. "Good. Really good." That really made me smile. Seeing her happy made me happy.

"Aiden?" She looked up from the book. "Hm?"

"Davis is out of city for two days. Would you mind having dinner at my place tonight?" She said shyly. A smile crept up my face and I nodded my head. "How can I miss this opportunity?"

Her face instantly lit up and she clasped her hands together. "Great!"

"Will you be cooking?" I asked, putting my hands on the table and watching her intensely.

"Yup! I just hope I don't burn the food." She laughed.

Where are you?

I read Crystal's message and cursed under my breath. I was supposed to be at her place at 7 but I overslept and forgot to put the alarm.

On my way.

I typed back and got in my car. I woke up at 7 and then it clicked me that I had to go to Crystal's. How could I forget meeting her? I got ready by 7.15 and now I was driving to her place.

"Hey." The door opened and Crystal stood there, smiling. She looked absolutely beautiful in the light blue shirt and ripped jeans she wore.

"Hey. Sorry I'm late." I said, breathlessly.

"It's okay. Come in." She stepped aside and closed the door once I was in. My eyes roamed around the place. The place was small but cozy. "Here." Crystal walked towards the living room and I followed her.

"So, you have the whole place to yourself for two days?" I said once I got seated on the sofa.

"Yup." She smiled. "You want some wine?" She asked and stood up and walked towards the kitchen counter.

"I would love to."

"There's no way you cooked this!"  I didn't know she was this good at cooking.

"Believe it or not." She chuckled. "This is absolutely amazing, Crys." I couldn't stop stuffing my face with the lasagne she made.

"Thank you." She put her elbows on the table and stared at me with a smile. "You got something right there." She said and pointed towards the corner of her lips.

"Where?" I touched my lips. "Dust if of for me?" I leaned forward and she smiled nervously. Cutee!

She took a napkin from the table and wiped away whatever was at the corner of my lip.

"You look beautiful." I was meaning to say this but couldn't find the right time.

"Thankyou." She tugged a stand if hair behind her ear and smiled, her cheeks turning red.

"Im so awkward with complements." She blushed even harder, making he laugh. "You're cute when you blush." I said which made her a deeper shade of red.

I couldn't stop smiling. She looked so cute when she hid her blushing face from me.

"Hey, I-"  I started to say but shopped when I accidently knocked over the glass and it's content poured out.

"Shit." I stood up when the liquid poured down on my shirt and jeans. "I had to ruin the moment." I mumbled and Crystal laughed.

"The bathroom is that way. I'll clean this up." She said. "Thanks." I walked towards the direction she pointed and found the door to the bathroom.

I was busy splashing water on my shirt when something silver caught my eye. I took hold of it and me eyes widened when I saw some blood on that blade.

"Crystal?" I walked out of the bathroom and saw her putting the dishes away in the sink. "Yes?"

"Crys, what's this?" I held up the blade with blood. She turned around and her eyes widened when she saw the blade in my hand. "Where'd you find this?" She rushed towards me and tried to take it from me.

"Doesn't matter." I held her arm and made her look at me. "Did you cut yourself again?" I watched her intensely with concern.

"I.." she looked down to the floor and hid her face behind her hair.

"Crystal, why?" I put my hand under her chip and tilted it upwards.

"I was mad and upset and I didn't know what to do. I had to do something.." Tears started to brim at the corner of her eyes.

"I told you to call me and not do anything stupid."

"You were worried because of your mom. I didn't want you to worry about me."

"Are you serious right now?" My jaw clenched as I stared at her.

"So you just cut yourself instead of calling me?" My voice was no longer soft now. I didn't know why but I was starting to get mad just by thinking that she hurt herself again. She decided to cut herself instead of telling me.

"Aiden I didn't know what to do, okay? I was already messed up and I didn't want you to worry about me. There was so much going on with you I just.." she sighed and walked away from me .

She stood by the kitchen counter with her back to me. My eyes fell on the blade again and my anger started to drain down. She was hurting.

"Crystal." I approached her and turned her in my arms. "I just don't want you to suffer anymore." I wipped away a stray tear from her cheek.

"Whenever I'm with you I forget about everything, Aiden. You make me so happy. I haven't been this happy in years." Her hand touched my cheek and she smiled.

"I just want you to get away from Davis. It hurts me to even think about all the bad things he does to you."

She closed her eyes and fell in my arms, embracing me in a hug.

"Promise me you won't do this again and this time make sure to keep the promise, Crys."

My hands wrapped around her waist and I held her close to me. "I promise. You make me so happy, Aiden. I never thought I'll find someone like you." She lifted her head from my chest and looked into my eyes.

She couldn't see it but my heart did a little flip there. I was happy to have someone like her too.

My eyes fell on her lips and so did hers. We both stared at each other's lips for a while before I decided to lean in. A little part in me told me not to because...what if she didn't feel the same?

Suddenly the house phone rang and I cursed under my breath. My hands dropped by my side as Crsytal walked towards the phone.

"Hello?" She glued the phone to her ear.

"Y-yes." She gulped.

"It's locked." She nodded her head before putting the phone back down. "It was Davis. He was making sure I kept all the windows and door closed. He's scared I would run away." She walked towards me but this the, kept he distance.

"Why wouldn't you?" I asked, crooking me head to the side.

"He'll find me even from my grave." She said, looking down to the ground.

"Um.. sorry to ruin the moment." She nervously chuckled.

"It's fine. I better get going. I'll meet you tommorow?" I said and she nodded her head.

"And I'm keeping this." I held up the blade and she laughed.

"Bye. I'll see you at school." She walked me to the front door.

"Take care of yourself and remember that I'm just a phone call away, alright?" I said and she nodded.

Damnit! I was already falling in love with her.
