KUMI AYAME's POV"Asahi nice serve!"
"Left!"
"Chance ball!" Shouted Daichi as he received the ball flawlessly. Kageyama ran under the ball positioning his arms, suddenly Hinata came from behind.
Is he gonna do the quick?
I studied both of their movements and realized how desperate Hinata was to do the new quick. He jumped, expecting for Kageyama's perfect toss, but his set was off.
Still, Hinata was able to barely hit the ball with his fingertips and lets it fall behind Lev, scoring a point.
We sighed in relief, until Hinata started saying something that might have provoked Kageyama. I wasn't really able to hear what they say, so I watched closely at their actions. Suddenly, Kageyama grabbed Hinata by his shirt as he growled angrily.
"Not again," I sighed.
"Sensei." Coach Ukai hurriedly spoke as Takeda got the message.
"C-can we take a time out?" Takeda said to the referee. The whistle blew, signalling for a timeout but the duo were still glaring daggers at each other on court.
Kiyoko, Yachi, and I watched them worriedly; even Tanaka could barely force them to move. Yachi and I stood up and walk towards them.
"N-no fighting." Yachi said nervously as she grabbed Hinata's shirt.
"Oi what are you thinking fighting in a middle of a match." I said rather coldly at Kageyama who suddenly stood stiff at my presence.
"Sorry," he mumbled at me.
"Don't apologize to me, idiot." I replied, dragging him out of the court.
——
Night came quickly. Kageyama and Hinata didn't speak to each other the next few matches after their fight, giving us another headache.
"What are you doing?" Hinata asked as I watched him placing bottles down with specific distances besides each other.
"Starting tonight, I'm not practicing with you." Kageyama replied coldly.
I furrowed my eyebrows in frustration as I gave him a glare. "But you need him for this quick!"
"I have bottles." He stated flatly, just finishing up.
"It's different without Hinata," I said.
"Alright!" Hinata sighed, "Kenma! Throw me some tosses!"
"S-Shoyo wait!" But he already ran off to Nekoma.
"You can go to him if you like," Kageyama suddenly spoke in a bitter tone, turning away. "Yachi-san, please help me practice."
Yachi suddenly perked up nervously, "Eek! K-Kumi is it alright with you?"
I turned to Kageyama, but he only ignored me as he crossed his arms impatiently, waiting for Yachi to throw a ball. An aura surrounded him, somewhat telling me to give him space.
"Yeah..." I muttered quietly, "Please help him practice until he can get it, Yacchan."
"O-okay," Yach replied softly. I patted her on the head reassuringly and smiled before walking away.
I sat back on the bench, sighing hopelessly while I hugged myself. What am I gonna do about them? I said in my mind, seeing Kenma running to the side. "Kenma!" I waved at him.
He looked at me, approaching me as I waved back. "Hi Kumi."
"Where's Shoyo? Wasn't he with you?" I asked.
He looked away shyly and replied quietly, "I ran away...I think he's with Kuroo and the others in the other gym."
"I see," I nodded, standing up. "I'll go then, thank you, Kenma!"
"Uhh...sure."
After a few minutes, I found myself walking towards gymnasium 3, hearing balls spiking and shoes squeaking. I peaked inside, seeing the same boys additional Hinata and Lev.
Bokuto, Akaashi, and Hinata stood on the left side of the court while Tsukishima, Lev, and Kuroo stood on the right as if they were preparing for a 3v3 match.
"Oh, Kumi!" Hinata called as he noticed my presence. "Why aren't you with Kageyama?"
"He wanted some space," I shrugged.
"You're dating Karasuno's genius setter?" Kuroo asked smugly.
"Yes she is," Hinata replied for me.
"What?!" Bokuto shouted.
"Gah!" Kuroo groaned, "Just as I thought I had a chance."
"Arghh! That was unexpected!" Bokuto whined. Until it came to the point where Kuroo and Him where in a middle of a nonsense conversation.
Hinata, Akaashi, Lev, Tsukishima, and I stood dumbfounded as they both got lost in their own worlds. "Should I retort?" I asked.
"No, there will be no end to it." Akaashi replied.
"It can't be helped then," The two finally ended as Kuroo spoke. "Let's start the match. Kumi-chan please help with the scoring." He purred flirtatiously as I flicked his forehead.
"On it," I said as they started their mini match.
——
"The best way to describe this attack is: something born from upsetting the balance of stillness and motion." Bokuto lectured sternly at Hinata who seemed amazed yet confused at the same time.
"There he is again trying to sound cool." Akaashi sighed.
"Do you have any idea what he's talking about?" Asked Kuroo.
"I have an idea," nodded Akaashi.
"He's talking about a feint right?" I tried to hold my laughter.
"Yeah," replied Akaashi, "how'd you know?"
"I taught him those specific terms while at the same time explaining what a feint is when we trained together before," I facepalmed, "I never thought he'd memorize that stupid line."
"Hey Me-chan did I say it right?" Bokuto turned to me with a cheeky smile.
I gave him a thumbs up and nodded sarcastically as he turned to Hinata and continued talking nonsense.
"Akaashi-kun I think we should head to the cafeteria now," I said.
"Yeah I think so too," he replied.
But they decided to finish the match until the first set ended with the Owls winning. Bokuto slapped Hinata's back hard as he praised him for the new moves, until the two Fukurodani managers entered the gym and called us for dinner.
