Chapter 13: The Truth

KASSANDRA's POV

I'm currently sitting on a bench feeling fidgety when Kenzo approached me. I was even biting my nails while looking at him, distracted.

"Hey Kass!" he said while sitting beside me yet maintaining an eye contact. "Nangyari sa'yo?" he asked with concern.

I just blinked my eyes a few times and averted my gaze into nothingness. Then stared at him again.

"Hey!" while snapping his fingers at me. "Are you alright?"

I sigh before answering him, "I was just thinking about what Dad said."

"Regarding?" naiintrigang tanong naman nito.

"Zion Chen," I simply said.

"So, what about him?" he asked uninterested.

But before I could even answer him, he spoke again, "Let me guess. Tito wanted you to broke-up with him?"

I gasped in surprise. 'How did Kenzo know it?'

"The looks of it, I was right." While crossing his legs and propping his arms on his seat. We are sitting on a bench in the soccer field. We were at school dahil nga postponed ang shoot namin.

"How did you know?" I really want to know why. Kenzo is into business too, so he might know something.

"Well, for your own safety, I guess." Dad also said the same thing. Lalo tuloy akong naintriga. "So you are not aware how powerful your 'boyfriend' is?"

"Anong kinalaman sa safety ko niyon, if powerful siya? Hindi ba dapat nga mas safe ako?" nalilitong tanong ko.

Bumuntong-hininga lamang ito saka tumingin sa malayo. Pagkatapos ay tinitigan ako. "You always see the world as a beautiful place to live in, huh?" he said. Not too sure if he's mocking me or what.

"What's wrong with that?" depensa ko naman sa sarili ko. 'Is it wrong seeing it that way? I know na madaming masamang tao sa mundo pero mas madami pa rin naman ang mabubuti. So why do I need to give up on those good souls?'

"You are so naïve, my dear Kassie. No wonder Tito is worrying so much about you," natatawang wika nito sabay gulo ng hair ko. Napanguso naman tuloy ako sa sinabi niya. 'Ano bang masama sa pagiging naïve?'

"The incident at the shoot, do you really think na walang kinalaman 'yon kay Zion? It was happened after that kissing scandal," wika nito na parang siguradong sigurado siya na may kinalaman nga ito kay Zion. "And Kass, you've been in the entertainment for more than 10 years, and not even once na may masamang nangyari sa'yo. Not until that scandal."

Wala tuloy akong alam idepensa para kay Zion dahil may point naman nga siya. But it doesn't mean na dahil sa kanya, kaya nangyari ang bagay na 'yon.

"Okay, sabihin na natin na it's because of Zion kaya nangyari ang bagay na 'yon. So, any suggestion?" It's no point arguing with them regarding this matter, hindi rin naman ako sigurado sa opinyon ko.

He just stared at me intently. It took him couple of seconds bago ito nagsalita, "You like him already, right?" And with that ay nanlaki tuloy ang mga mata ko.

"Wh..what?" I stuttered. I felt my cheeks reddened dahil sa tanong na iyon.

"You are blushing, my dear. It's too obvious," he said teasingly. Inirapan ko lamang siya saka nag-iwas nang tingin. "No need to answer." Sabay tawa pa nito. 'Do I like Zion, na ba?'
