*Stephen's POV:
I was walking down the hallway feeling a bit uneasy. Today is the time that I will finally tell everything to Sophia. I'll tell her everything about what happened in the past especially with what happened between me and Cindy. As for now, there are a lot of questions swirling in my mind. Questions that are still left unanswered.
Will she even take it?
Will she even get my point?
Will she still be my girlfriend?
Or worse, will she still love and accept me?
I was still contemplating with my thoughts when I finally saw her.
Sophia.
She was heading towards my direction. I can see that there is something off with her.
"Are you alright, Sophia?" I asked her the moment I saw a tear falling down from her eye. It really pains me a lot to see her in this state. Every tear that falls from her eyes is ten times painful for me. I hate it when she cries.
"Stephen... my parents..." She said as tears started to fall down from her eyes. At that moment, I immediately pulled her and hugged her tightly. I wanted to make her feel that I will always be here for her.
"What happened? Tell me." I told her. She looked at me and there I saw the pain that she's feeling by now. How I wish I can do something to make her smile.
"My parents... are now... divorced." Every word she uttered shows how deep is her pain right now. How will I even tell her about my past if she is in this state now? I can never have the courage to tell her about this because it will just worsen the situation she's into. I don't want to hurt her even more.
"Why did the do that? Can't they see that they also have a daughter that will be affected by their decisions!" I can't help but get mad. It's really unbelievable on how they can make decisions without even thinking if their daughter would be okay from it. How can they be so selfish?
I looked at Sophia and saw the struggle she is going through now. I can't even imaging myself losing her. I pulled her into me and hugged her tightly. I want her to feel that I will always be here for her. That no matter what happens, I'll always be here to help her.
She looked at me and I know that after this, she will be fine. that she will be able to surpass every obstacle that will be heading her way. "I... I just want to leave... for a while."
The moment she said those words, I immediately thought of a place where we can go to lessen the hurt and pain she's feeling right now. The suddenly, an idea popped onto my mind.
The park.
When we were still kids, whenever we feel bad or when our parents scold us, we always go here to release our sadness and afterwards, feel better about the situation. So I think that bringing her here would help her lessen the pain that she's feeling.
"You wanna go to the park?" I told her with a genuine smile. I saw a smile that tugged on her lips.
"Sure. I missed going there." She replied with a hint of excitement and happiness on her tone. I'm glad that she's smiling.
I held her hand with mine and we both walked our way to the park. The moment we stepped on the place, a smile immediately made its way onto her lips. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she reminisce all the happiest moments that had happened in her life in the past.
How I wish I can always see her in that state.
Without the hint of sadness, hurt, and pain.
We sat on two swings and I decided to break the silence.
"You really missed going here, huh?" I said the moment she stared back at me.
"Definitely. This place reminds me of the happiest and of the most precious moments of my life." She replied back as she looked around her surroundings.
"I'm glad that you're finally smiling. You look ugly when you're lonely." I told her jokingly.
"I just hope that everything would be fine. Uhm... Stephen?" She suddenly called me from nowhere.
"Yes?" I asked her.
"Promise me you'll never hide any secret from me. Promise me you'll tell me everything." She said with a serious tone. I was suddenly taken aback by what she said.
Oh no.
But... I've got to tell you something, Sophia. Something that I know will shock you the most. I can't even assure if you'll still be mine when you'll have the chance to know the truth. How will I even have the guts to tell this to you now?
"P... Promise." I told her.
