Chapter 12

For the better part of a year you were watching over Newt and never left his bedside. The greenies name turned out to be Ben and you became friends quite quick, he helped out with Newt a lot. He's a runner now. Minho has a whole gang of them. Since Ben there was 12 greenies that came up, Cameron, Austin, Jake, George, Derek, Edward, Daniel, Abraham, Laurence, William, Paul and Toby. Most of the greenies went to construction or gardening but Toby, Derek and sam are runners.

Newt has finally fully healed and is back on his feet, but he can't run. The hardest thing was watching him go through that. You couldn't believe you had never noticed how much he had hated the maze. "You should have told me" you would always tell him. You got to know Newt a lot more and he had become something more in your eyes but you couldn't exactly put your finger on it.

Newt is in the garden because he still wanted to help the glade but didn't want to spend anymore time near Med-jacks. He walks with a limp now, you tell him it's cute and it makes him feel better about it.

It was night time and there was another bonfire it will be one of Newts first that he can actually enjoy himself without being on medication or crutches made of branches. Everyone was dancing and fighting around the fire, it's a new thing that Gally brought into the glade. Two people have to be in a circle made of the rest of the gladers that surround them and they just fight. You never really understood it or payed attention to it you mostly stayed away and talked to Newt.

"Hey limpy, I challenge you" Gally shouts from the ring, you look to Newt as he's actually considering it.

"Get lost Gally" you shout back before newt could even move.

"I didn't ask you sweetheart" he shouted back at you.

"Sweetheart? Really Gally get a life." You were surrounded by laughing gladers after that comment. Gally was pissed, no one in the glade had ever spoke to Gally like that. Everyone seen him as the bad guy and some of them are even scared of him. He dreams of being Alby's second in command but it's alby that decides on who that will be.

"Ok then, sweetheart, I challenge you. Take your boyfriends place and fight me. If you win, I'll stop challenging your wee man toy, ok?" Newt gave you a look that told you not to fight Gally, he was worried. You gladly walked into the circle of gladers and watched as the circle was now formed with no exit. "Looks like you're scared princess, are you scared the big bad Gally is going to win?" He tried to sound intimidating but he really just sounded like a weirdo.

"Wow Gally you have got 4 things wrong already" you snapped back and began to move closer to begin the fight. Gally was side stepping around the circle, ready to pounce at any moment, but he stopped.

"And what exactly are those 4 things Y/n?" With no second short of Gally saying that you punched him in the nose.

"One, no one has ever called you the big bad Gally." He got angry and tried to run towards you but you clotheslined him as he ran. "Two, I unlike most people here am not scared of you." He began to get more and more angry, he ran towards you again but this time you moved over and tripped him up. "Three, your intimidating voice needs a hell of a lot of work but I wasn't intimidated." Gally got super annoyed at this point and ran full force towards you when you once again punched him in the face. "Oh and last but not least, he's not my boyfriend. Well done Gally, you lost." You began to walk out of the ring with all the gladers surrounding you laughing and clapping, finally someone stood up to Gally, finally someone took his ego down a tone. But it wasn't over yet as you smiled at Newt he in turn didn't have a smile on his face he looked, scared. That's when you turned around and saw Gally running towards you and he tackled you to the ground, making you black out seconds after hitting the ground.
