Four days had past since we got here. I haven't left the house since then only to go to the grocery store or something or to help Tia or Axel with something outside.
So today I decided to go out and do something.
I got out of bed finally, walked to my dresser and stared in the mirror. I needed to wash my smelly hair and get changed. My hair had been dyed dark aqua so washing it would be difficult because it will stain.
After my shower i walked out the bathroom in my towel to my closet. I opened the closet door and took out my denim overalls shorts and a tight crop top with pictures of 90's cartoons on it. I put on my white socks and my black converse on. I put my hair up in a ponytail letting the curls fall.
After that i went to my jewelry box which only had few pieces of actual jewelry Then I changed my lime green gauges to my black tunnel plugs. Im a size 4 in gauges and I'm planning on sizing up to a zero.Anyways I grab my black and white aztec elephant backpack with little things I needed.
When I went downstairs and in the living room Axel stopped me.
"Where you goin?" he asked
"I dunno." I shrugged carelessly "I think I'll go to the mall, the store or just walk around."
"Okay, but be careful out there." he said looking a little worried.
"I will." I said while walking to the kitchen.
Tia was there cleaning the dishes.
"Hey sweetie good morning." she said with a smile.
"Hey Tia." I said
"Where are you going." she said while drying a glass cup.
"No where really" I said "just going to get some fresh air for a while"
"Oh okay, are you doing okay?" She asked.
I hesitated before answering. For some reason that question ticked me off.
"Does it matter?" I ask a little too harshly.
"Excuse me?" She asks raising her brow.
"I said does it matter." I tend to get a little smart to people.
"Look young lady I know what you're going through is hard but it doesn't mean you can be such a smart ass!" Her voice raised.
"How do you know what I'm going through? You have no id-"
CRASH!The glass Tia was holding fell to the floor.
"Why are you acting like this to me?! I am the one caring for you! Ever since you got here you have been ignoring me and treating me like crap. I try so hard to make you happy here!" Tears were falling down her face.
"Maybe I didn't want your help, maybe I didn't want to come here!" I shot to her.
"You're Not the only one who lost someone Carmen!" She yelled.
I stopped talking but kept my stare at her.
"I lost my sister!" She yelled again.
"Well it's YOUR fault we lost her!!" I yelled to her face this time tears were escaping my eyes. My face felt really hot.
We both stood there speechless.
I meant what I said. It really was her fault. Sort of.
We were out camping for the week and we wanted to get fresh air and enjoy ourselves before school started. Me and Axel and Jasmyn were hanging out by the creek. Mom and Tia were inside cooking dinner.
After a while everything seemed fine but then we smelt something funny. I looked up to see thick black smoke and I only see Tia running out of the cabin.
The cabin bursted with flames. Tears were flooding on my face. My eyes widen I turn to my brother, he screams out for mom. We both run to the cabin but it was too late.
It took a long time for them to turn out the fire. Tia had burns on her left arm and back of her leg.All I really know is Tia could have helped save mom before anything happened.
I walked out of the kitchen quickly but when I turned around Axel glared at me coldly and I swiftly walked past him. I heard his footsteps follow behind me.
I opened the door and ran out into the driveway feeling the heat on my skin, but Axel was quick to follow before I ran.
He grabbed onto my arm tight and pulled me back.
"What the hell was that about!" He yelled in my face.
"None of your damn business! Let me go!!"
"None of my business?! You know damn well it's as much business to me than it is to you!"
"Let go o-"
"You also know it was not Tia's fault!!"
"She could have done some-"
"Are you fucking kidding me?! How the hell do you know what she could have done??!"
I didn't say anything. I just stared into Axels deep green eyes. Mom always said he had our fathers features.
"I don't." i said quietly and looked at the tall palm trees rustling it's leaves.
I could feel Axels grip loosen. I looked up at him. His face was hardened with anger. Tears fell freely from his eyes.
"You are always so quick to blame someone without knowing what happened. You go apologize to her." he said this without looking at me. "You can be so ungrateful and selfish sometimes. Tia is the one actually trying to help us. She is the one trying to help us forget what happened and to start over. She wants us to be happy."
I didn't answer. I felt so guilty.
How can I go talk to her after what I did.
"I-I need to think." I mumbled to myself.
I didn't look at Axel but I could feel his eyes glaring at me as I walked away.
