"To think you're wearing that hat we got together on that island...how ironic," Shanna mumbled, looking away.
Law sighed. "Listen Shanna, I don't have time to be arguing with you right now. There's a lot that needs to be done. Right now, the Straw Hats' and your appearance has greatly affected my plans. Right now, I need you to stay put," he said.
"What plan?" Shanna asked, this time finally looking his way. Law opened his mouth, but quickly paused. He knew now was not the right time, nor the right place to discuss his plan. Right now his top priority is ensuring Shanna's safety. The only way to make sure she is safe is to keep her with him.
Law picked up Kikoku from the ground with one hand, and with the other he took Shanna's hand in his. The redhead's eyes widened at his sudden gesture. What is he plotting? "I'll tell you later. For now, come with me," Law said. He then dragged her with him down the halls again. Shanna wanted to retort and break free, but her eyes locked onto their intertwined hands.
She hated how deep inside she was feeling kind of happy. She was disgusted with how even after all this time, she still can't erase her love for this guy. However, she couldn't make herself defy him. Even though a lot happened between them, deep inside she still respects him, and thinks of him as her captain. Which is why she couldn't make herself break free from his grasp and go back to Luffy and the others. Stop racing, she told her heart.
...
The sixteen year old girl grabbed Law's hands, dragging him into the clothing store. "Law, how does this look?" she grabbed a dress from the rack and placed it in front of her body. "Does it suit me?"
"No, it'll get in the way of fighting. Put it back," Law replied flatly. The smile on Shanna's face faded, replaced by a look of annoyance. She placed the dress back on the rack, and started going through the clothes in the store. It wasn't a really big store, but there were plenty enough clothes for her to choose from.
"Then what do think I should get?" asked Shanna.
Law casually flipped through the clothes on the other rack, until something caught his eye. He smirked as he picked out a yellow blouse. "This is nice," he said. Shanna's brows furrowed and her lips curled downward in disgust.
"Yellow on a blouse? Who in the right mind thought of that?" she ridiculed the top which her captain had picked out. "Law you sure like yellow don't you."
"Whatever," Law grumbled, slamming the blouse back onto the rack. "You go and pick out what you need. Call me when you're ready." He then walked away and sat down on a stool in the corner of the store. Shanna sighed helplessly, and picked up the yellow blouse again. She picked out a few tank tops to wear when she's doing maintenance for the Polar Tang, as well as a coat in case they land on a winter island.
After grabbing some new underwear and bras, she called Law over to pay for everything. Law's eyes widened when he saw the yellow blouse amongst the clothes Shanna was gonna buy. "I thought you said it was ugly," Law said.
"Yeah, but it's the first piece of clothing you ever picked out for me!" Shanna replied.
Law looked away, and grabbed the wallet in his pocket. "Weirdo," he muttered. The girl simply chuckled happily, feeling satisfied.
When Law and Shanna finished shopping for clothes, they got out onto the streets again. Shanna felt really happy when she saw how peaceful this town is. Everyone had such a happy expression on their face. However, Law seemed to think otherwise. The man looked around, and strangely, all of the civilians here looked a little pale. Although it wasn't obvious, but quite a lot of them hard dark circles under their eyes as well. And despite all of them smiling and welcoming customers, their smiles seemed a little bit forced.... Nonetheless, it wasn't Law's business as to what's going on here, so Law decided to ignore it.
