Law and Shanna both trudged in the snow, with the girl in the front, trotting at a fast pace despite the depth of the snow. "Shanna slow down," Law said.
"How can I slow down? You heard that clown! He sent two monster assassins after my friends! How do you expect me to stay calm in this situation? Why did you hold me back back there?" Shanna demanded, turning around. She was forced to sit through Caesar Clown, Monet, and Law's conversation back in the laboratory. Caesar apparently sent out two yettis to go after the Straw Hats. Nami, Zoro, and Brooke are apparently dead. And they still don't know if the others are safe.
"Shanna, you have to stay with me, Caesar and Monet get suspicious easily. They're already suspicious of you. We can't afford have you going around on your own!" Law said, grabbing Shanna by the arm. "Remember, you're my girlfriend. If you go to rescue to Straw Hat's they'll get suspicious of me as well."
Oh right, she was so worried she had completely forgot to ask Law why he told Caesar that she was his girlfriend. He could have told her she was just one of his crew. She opened her mouth, but just as the question was rising to her tongue she swallowed it back down. She's not stupid; she didn't need to ask. It's probably something along the lines that it's more believable that way. Shanna finally choked out, "But I still have to."
Law sighed. He knew it. He said it once before, that Shanna wasn't suited to become a pirate. She's too impulsive, emotional, and too kind. She gets attached to people and starts doing good things way too easily. In the world of pirates, where it's kill or get killed, she sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe she really is more suited for the Straw Hat crew.... No. Shanna is his vice captain. Even if she's too kind, even if she's impulsive, he doesn't have any intention of letting her go again.
In the first place, the appearance of the Straw Hats and the marines already messed up his plans. Law let out a frustrated groan. "Come on, I know where the yettis are," he said, dragging Shanna along with him, heading towards the snow mountains.
"Law...." Shanna muttered. Surprised that Law would actually go so far as to hinder his plan for the sake of the Straw Hats, she couldn't help but smile just a little bit. You always say I'm too kind and too emotional to be a pirate, but when it really comes down to it, you're the one who's truly kind.
...
The civilians knelt and bowed down to the pirates. "Thank you! Thank you so much!" they shouted in tears.
"You don't have to thank me. I did it out of the spur of the moment," Law said casually.
"But you saved our lives, and you even helped remove all the drugs from our bodies. How can we ever thank you?" they asked.
"If you really wanna thank us," the captain in yellow said. "Load our ship with your best alcohol." The civilians smiled when they heard his request. Immediately, all the people got up from the ground, and started racing around to grab the best alcohol they could find.
As Shanna watched the people scurry around, she smiled. With the drugs removed from their system, they no longer look pale as ash. Redness returned to their skin, and their smiles were more genuine than ever. She looked up at the captain of her pirate crew, who stood there looking bored as ever, and she chuckled. "You always say I'm too kind and too emotional to be a pirate, but when it really comes down to it, you're the one who's truly kind," Shanna said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Law asked.
"It's a compliment!" Shanna replied, hugging Law. "As expected from a doctor!"
...
Law and Shanna found the place where the yettis are, and coincidentally, saved Franky, who turned out to be Nami, from one of the yettis. Law then proposed an alliance with Luffy.
