Chapter 33: Memories

"Law, I'm in love with you. When I grow up, let's get married!"

The 21 year old sprayed his tea out in the thirteen year old girl's face. He patted his chest as he coughed, and quickly demanded, "WHAT?!"

The girl wiped the liquid off of her with a slight disgust on her face, but quickly repeated herself, "I said, when I grow up, we should get married."

"HAH?!" At first Law thought he heard wrong, but the second time, he was completely baffled by the little girl. "Why should I marry you?!"

"Because I love you!"

"Well I don't love you. Plus you're just a kid. I don't have that kind of interest, so spare me," Law waved his hand, shooing the girl off. "Now go work on the blueprint or go play with Bepo or something. Don't bother me, I'm trying to read."

"But-"

"Go!" Law pointed to his bedroom door. An annoyed grumble came out of the young teenager, but she left his bedroom anyways, slamming the door behind her. Law sighed deeply after she left. Time really does fly. She was just a little girl not too long ago, but now she's a teenager going through puberty. 

"So she's at that age huh...." he muttered. Speaking of which, has she gotten her period yet? The man closed his medical textbook and quietly opened his bedroom door. Across his room was Shanna's room, and her door was open. He could hear Shachi and Penguin's voice loud and clear inside her room, so he perked his ear to listen in on their conversation.

Shachi was the one that was doing most of the talking when Law started listening in. "Come on Shanna-chan don't be sad. I mean we expected that kind of reaction in the first place right? Give him some time to swallow it in! He'll come around."

What?! Law knitted his brows. They're in on this?!

"Yeah! Law is just taken by surprise!" said Penguin.

"But you guys were the ones who said if I want him to like me back I should tell him how I feel. And he kicked me out...." Shanna grumbled. I did not kick you out, you walked out on your own!

"It's okay. He probably thinks it's just a phase."

"IT IS NOT A PHAAAAASE!!!!!!!" Shanna shouted, really elongating the word 'phase.' From the way her voice wavered, Law can tell she was rocking her body back and forth as she shouted. 

"S-Sure! We believe you Shanna-chan! And we're on your side!" Shachi exclaimed. Law rolled up his sleeves. You guys are so dead. "But you do have to realize that he's an adult, and you're still a kid. It's only natural that he doesn't see you as...you know, a love interest. You don't even have boobs yet!" That's it. Shachi is so dead! Law thought before bursting into the room and beating him up.

It's been three months since the newfound Heart Pirates, or at least that's what Law decided to call themselves, arrived at Rakesh, a port town in the North Blue. Swallow Island was big, but it didn't have many population and was mainly filled with forests and small villagers. Needing the necessary knowledge and materials to set for the Grand Line, the young adults and teenagers came here to study the skills they need. While Bepo was out learning about navigation, Shanna was a shipwright apprentice for an old man who helps fix navy fleets. 

It was a sunny morning. Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo were still sleeping. That was when a loud voice echoed through the entire house. "AAAAAAAHHHHH I'M BLEEDING!!!!"

Law was first to burst into the bathroom. "WHERE?!" He demanded. He didn't know why he expected Shanna to be laying in a pool of blood with her gut ripped open, but he certainly didn't expect what he saw. The red haired girl sat on the toilet with her eyes watering. There was a large patch of blackish red on her underwear. Oh. He thought.
