The transponder snail hung up. Shanna's legs were shaking with fear and fury. "They have Law. I need to find Law!" Shanna sobbed.
"How about this, Shanna-chan, you head to the palace to meet up with Luffy and the others. Meanwhile, we'll follow through with the factory infiltration," Franky suggested. Shanna swallowed the lump in her throat, and wiped away the tears on her face. She nodded at the cyborg, who smiled back at her reassuringly. Franky raised his thumb at Shanna and said, "Don't worry, we'll make sure the job is well done for ya!"
"I'll leave it to you!" Shanna said with a grateful smile. She turned to Robin. "Thanks Robin."
"Don't let go of him this time Shanna. He really loves you," Robin whispered.
Shanna nodded. She grabbed her hammer, and smiled at her friends once again. "Stay safe," she said before heading up the stairs, out of the base and ran away from the Flower Hill.
She dialed Zoro's number on her tiny transponder snail. "Pereperepere.... Pereperepere.... gacha!"
"Hello?!"
"Zoro, it's me!" Shanna said. She jumped off a large hill, and started running down the path she came from. "I'm heading towards the palace right now, where are you guys?"
"We're still at the Coliseum, waiting for Luffy to get out! There's a shit load of marines chasing us!" Zoro said. From the transponder snail Shanna could here people shouting behind him. And Zoro did sound like he was running from something.
"Okay, keep me updated!" Shanna said.
"Yeah I got it!" Zoro replied. "I'm hanging up now!" The transponder snail went to sleep after a 'gatcha.' There was a long path from the Flower Hill to the Corida Coliseum. Shanna didn't have time to go down the entire path, so she cut through the meadows, jumped over large rocks, running towards the Coliseum at her fastest pace.
Why? What the hell was I hesitating for? What was I so confused about? The answer was right there wasn't it?! Shanna hit a rock with her foot. She caught herself with the hammer before she fell, and continued through the meadows. It's always been you! Since the beginning! You were the only one for me!
...
It was a cold winter night. Shanna and her mother were out collecting firewood when they found Law. At that time he was just a boy too, only thirteen years old, passed out in the snow. "Oh no!" Shanna's mother exclaimed when she saw a small figure lying in the snow. She dropped the firewood and ran to the boy. "Hey, are you okay?" The boy was barely breathing. Without second thought, she put the boy on her back and lifted him up. "Shanna, grab the firewood, we gotta get this boy to somewhere warm."
"Okay!" Shanna chirped. She wrapped her small arms around as much firewood as she could manage, and followed her mother as they headed back to their cottage. Bridgette took off the snow soaked clothes from Law's body, and placed him in her bed. Shanna dropped the firewood in the corner of the house and followed her mother around the house as she prepared a hot bath, as well as some hot porridge for the boy. "Mommy, is that oniichan gonna be okay?" the little girl asked, her blue eyes full of worry.
"Yes, Mommy will do her best to make sure he's okay," Bridgette said with a gentle smile as she patted her daughter's head. "Now go check on him okay? Let Mommy know when he wakes up."
"Okay!" Shanna ran to her mother's room, and climbed onto the bed. She looked down at the boy's face. "Ohhh..." she muttered as she studied his face. "What's the white thing on his face?" she wondered. Shanna placed her small hands on the boy's cheek. At the age of five, she was starting to understand aesthetics just a little bit, and this boy before her was exactly what she understood to be handsome.
