Two years passed by and Sherlock despised the school even more. Although the teacher Ms. Jenkins helped him through it. When he couldn't sleep he would go to her office where he was welcomed and they would conduct experiments, drink tea, Sherlock would also read all the chemistry text books she owned. It was no doubt that he was a natural at chemistry. It gave him something interesting to do to help him ignore the petty little girls pushing him hard against the walls of the hallways. He despised his uniform and thankfully all he ever needed to wear in the presence of his teacher in the nighttime were sweatpants and a loose t shirt. It made him feel better, instead of wearing the pretty little skirts and the tight button down shirts that outlined his curves.
When he began menstruating the school sent a letter to his family. His mother sent one back. Sherlock felt so uncomfortable as he read the letter.

Dear Athena,
Congratulations you are now officially a woman! When you return home we can go shopping for some new clothes instead of the hand me downs from Mycroft. You're a young lady now and you should dress like it.
Love,
Mummy

It put a sour taste in Sherlock's mouth. Sherlock despised being a "woman". He now apparently has to worry about looks, and boys, and whether or not his skirt was too short. This didn't sit right with him.
"Ms. Jenkins?" He asked the teacher one night.
"Yes Ms.Holmes." She responded. The "ms" hit him hard in the chest. She looked up from the papers she was grading to see the kid, who was never afraid to ask questions nervous. Immediately she realized how serious and important this question must be. She turned her full attention to him.

"I feel weird all the time, and I- I don't want to be a girl... I feel like I'm in the wrong body and I'm... scared..."
Ms. Jenkins walked over to him and hugged him tightly. He cried, the tears slipped from his eyes. The woman rocked him back and forth rubbing his back as he sobbed. He was still trembling with fear and nervousness. He wanted to wash the words from his mouth as soon as he had said them.
"It's ok, this is normal, it's ok." She whispered to him.
That night would be a night he would always remember.

Hi everyone it took a while to write this chapter because procrastination ✌️ this chapter is another flashback and there really isn't too much to read into but it is a version of my coming out to my mom if it actually went well. Around Christmas last year I tried to come out to her but she denied everything I said and denied my feelings, and said "no your not.". So I went back in the closet and I'm still in the closet to this day. I can't wait till I can move out and get an apartment or something with my boyfriend and barely ever talk with my family ever again.
