It has been a year and nothing had changed.

Alright, that was a lie.

Nonetheless, things had calmed down on the Resistance. There were quieter days and although there were busy from time to time it wasn't anything that they couldn't handle.

It was fall, soon to be winter. The wind was starting to get colder as the sunlight diminished little by little. Then the Resistance's lights went on, the agents began to get inside the building, it was time to go rest after a tiring day.

"You have been working too much don't you think?"

Rouge the Bat walked inside the Resistance's Main Room. To her no surprise, she found the pink leader of the organization. Always working hard ... Especially since the black hedgehog left.

"Well, someone has to do it," Amy said, recognizing the bat's voice and of course not separating her sight from the files of papers she was reading.

"Did you find anything interesting?" Rouge walked over Amy's desk, eyeing the documents that were spread around across her desk.

"Yes ... There was been some strange activities on abandoned Eggman bases. We have been getting entrance signals, at first, I thought they could be random animals," Amy said and this time she looked up to Rouge. "But the signals have been going on every two weeks."

"This sounds like something worth checking out ... are you going to tell Sonic to go?"

Amy shook her head, both of her hands placed on the wooden desk. "No, Sonic went on a mission yesterday ... I don't know when he will come back. So, I'll be the one going ... Alone."

"Alone?"

"Yes, is there a problem with that?"

"Well, you haven't gone in a mission since ..." The white bat stopped herself from saying his name and instead, she decided to paraphrase her words. " Since ... He left. I am just a bit scared that something may happen ... Take someone with you at least."

"No, it's ok. This is a solo mission, if I bring someone it may complicate things," the rosette hedgehog appreciated Rouge's eyes. Her friend was worried about her and undoubtedly, Amy hated to see Rouge like that. "Don't worry about me ok? I am strong, you know I can take care of myself.

Amy gave her a reassuring smile and a part of herself felt at ease when Rouge softly smiled back at her. It was good to know that her friend was worried about her.

"When are you leaving?" Rouge asked.

"Tomorrow morning."

.

.

.

It was a cold morning and Amy regretted not getting her big pink furred coat. The one that she was wearing protected her but not quite enough. However, if she kept in movement, her body heat would keep her warm.

The rosette hedgehog knew that she wasn't as prepared as she wanted to be. After all, it has been around a year since she last left for a solo mission.

    Or even more than that.

But she was tired.

Incredibly tired of waiting for that black-hearted hedgehog.

She just had to accept that he was never going to come back. By this time he must have found Maria ...He must be with her.

Probably living a happy and peaceful life together.

And Amy had to let go of that.

He had told her that he didn't reciprocate her feelings. He doesn't love her ... Like she does. She just couldn't wait for him forever ...
