CHAPTER 9

Shantal's Sister

Ilang araw na rin ang lumipas matapos na awayin ako ni Shantal. Sa tuwing lalapit siya sa akin pipigilan agad ito ng babe niya. Aawatin, pakakalmahin at titigil din. Iniirapan na lang niya ako. I sighed as a relief in that case.

It's Saturday today. We don't have a class but we have a activity to be done today. It's about Building Structures and Seismic Design, and Modeling Making and Architectural drawing.

It's been three days when my devilish vain father left. I wish he didn't comeback.

Am I bad? It's not my fault to be that way. I don't feel any emotions towards him, well..it just like full of anger. I don't feel love to him as my father instead a sentient anger in my heart.

I left home as early in the morning because of this urgent activity. I walked alone in a quiet corridor of LFU towards our room. It's quiet a bit because no students in the classrooms I passing by. There was a little noise comes from my opposite direction.

I'm in the Architecture department building. I'm about to go up stairs when someone unfamiliar face called me. I looked into her direction.

"Hi. Who are you?" I asked her while wearing a smile.

She smiled back. "I'm Jiya Cordoval" she paused for a moment and I think she ashamed.

"Oh, okay." I answered while smiling. "M-May kailangan ka sakin?" I politely asked her.

She nodded. "A-Actually..I'm Shantal's sister..hmm..wag ka sanang magagalit o iiwas sakin. Besides I'm not like my sister." she shyly smiled to me.

I nodded as a respond. It seems it was true the way she talked.

"Gusto ko sanang ihingi si ate ng sorry sa pang-aaway sayo! Ako ang nahihiya sa pinaggagawa niya sayo. Napakamaldita lang kasi talaga nun eh! And I think she was jealous on that time!"

Ngumiti ako sa kanya. "It's okay."  Okay na rin naman talaga iyong nangyari basta hindi na iyon mauulit.

"A-ahmm.." she stammering and a bit of nervous. I looked her with a confused and questionable face. It sounds she get it.

"Can I be one of your friends?" she said it while pouting. She's cute!

I sweetly smiled to her. "Sure, why not!"

She looked happy after I said that.

"Thank you so much Althea!!!" she hugged me. I realized, kung gaano kasweet at kabait 'tong si Jiya iyon naman ang pinagkamaldita ng ate niya.

"No problem. Pero mauna na ako sayo ha..may gagawin pa kasi kami.."

"Aww..okay! See you later then." she smiled and waving her hands while walking away.

"Althea!!!"

Napaigtad ako nang dahil sa gulat.

"Tyron! Hi." I greeted him while smiling.

He smiled back. "Papunta kana sa room? Sabay na tayo!"

Nagbibigay na ang Instructor namin ng directions para sa gagawin. We are group into two. Sa left corner ang kabilang grupo at sa right side naman kami. Our groupings based on our seating arrangement. So, kagrupo ko ang mga katabi ko.

Nagsimula na kami para matapos agad. At kung minamalas ka nga naman ako pa ang naging leader ng grupo namin samantalang si Zach ang naging assistant leader. Kami ang napili dahil kami daw kuno ang may clear, concrete and inorder at may alam ng husto sa paggawa ng example of models in Architectural drawing. I'm suggesting my opinions about the activity, they are all nodded except Zach. Tumingin ang lahat sa kanya.

"Zach, agree ka ba sa suggestion ni Althea? As assistant leader importante rin ang opinion mo." saad ng isa sa kagrupo ko.

It's about a minute before he talked.

He glanced at me for a moment. "I'm okay with her suggestion. It's appropriate for the structural matters in residential buildings if we are going to adapt her suggestion. And, she's talented enough with that stuffs. So, why not? I fully agree what's all her suggestions. In fact, it's for the better." he slightly smiled and staring on me again so I looked away.

I smiled to others so I can avoid the awkward feelings I felt now.

Is that a compliment?

We started again. It took an hours before it's done. My groupmates submit it to our instructor then they back into their position.

"Job well done guys! Thanks for the cooperation!" I said while smiling.

"We are done with our activity so let's celebrate then!"

Napalingon kaming lahat sa nagsalita, si Eiro. Isa sa kaibigan nila Zach.

"Mag-oopening ang bar ng kapatid ko mamaya. Gusto ko sanang iinvite kayo. No payments pa naman since bagong bukas ang bar. Lahat libre pati inumin. Ano game kayo?"

They are all agreed except Tyron and I. They are looking on us. Tyron nothing cares at all. I remember something so napalingon ako bigla kay Tyron na sa ngayon papaalis na.

"Tyron!!" I called him. Lumingon ito sakin.

"Future gf! Sama ka? Hmm..kung gusto niya rin sumama wala namang problema!" sumulyap ako sa grupo niya mukhang wala naman itong problema pwera na lang sa isa na walang pakialam. Tss!

"Hmm..I can't promise but I'll try. Magpapaalam lang ako kay Mama." sagot ko na lang.

"Yun oh! Sige hihintayin namin ang sagot mo para mamaya masundo ka namin!" dagdag ni Eiro.

I smiled to them before I went out. Nakalabas na pala si Tyron asan na kaya iyon pumunta??? Mukhang nagmamadaling umalis! He didn't say anything today except nung nakasalubong ko siya after that tahimik lang siya. Napaka tahimik niya ngayong araw.

Naisip ko tuloy, pupunta kaya siya mamaya???
