Mist

Mist opened her eyes, dizzy. After she began to lead the dog away from her territory, she started running toward the mountains, who were closer than she thought they would be. The dog gave up, exhausted, and when she wanted to go back, she slid off the path in a small hollow, then everything went black.

Where am I? Mist got up, looking around. She then remembered what happened. Stupid dog!

She began climbing out of the hollow, and when she did, she saw no grass or trees. She looked down at her paws. She was on a hard, rocky path. She desperately looked around for familiar things. She ran so fast from the dog and she wanted to get rid of it so badly that she didn't even see where she was going.

Now panicking, Mist began to wander around, looking around. ''Hello?'' She called, hoping there would be a cat here to help her. But there was nobody. I'm alone! I'm the only cat here!

She then sniffed the air. Wait, do I scent.. cats?

Mist looked around for a place to hide. Although she needed help, she wanted to see if the cat seemed friendly or not, so she hid behind a boulder.

''Are you sure we'll find prey here?'' A gray-and-white she-cat hissed. Her fur was covered in mud.

''Yes, Wing.'' A dark gray tom sighed. His fur was also covered in mud. ''There have to be some mice somewhere around here.''

''What do you know? You're not even a Prey-Hunter.'' Wing hissed, annoyed.

The dark gray tom stopped, his fur bristling. ''I have been in the Tribe long enough to know the territory. Besides, I have to come with you in order to protect you if you get attacked.''

Tribe? Prey-hunter? Mist looked at them, confused.

''Can you two stop fighting?'' The third cat, a light brown tabby she-cat sighed, approaching them. ''We're here to hunt, not to fight.''

''Right.'' Wing rolled her eyes, then stopped. She sniffed the air. ''Wait, I smell something. A cat. An intruder.''

Mist froze. Oh no, they're going to find me! She looked around, but she didn't saw any other places where she could hide.

Before she could move, the dark gray tom jumped on her, pinning her down. He bared his teeth. ''Who are you, and what are you doing here?!''

The other two cats approached them, their fur bristling.

 Mist looked at him, afraid.

 ''Talk, intruder!'' He spat.

''I.. I got lost.'' Mist managed to murmur. ''I got chased by a dog, a-and I got lost.''

 ''A dog?'' The gray-and-white she-cat asked, confused.

The dark gray tom sighed and looked at her. ''A dog is similar to a wolf.'' He quickly explained, then looked back at the intruder.

A wolf? Mist blinked. Who are these cats?

''What should we do with her?'' The dark gray tom sighed.

''We should bring her to Stoneteller.'' The light brown tabby she-cat suggested. ''He'll know what to do with her.''

Mist froze. Oh, no, no, no! I have to go back to my sister!

''Sure.'' The dark gray tom meowed, then padded backwards. ''Come on, you'll come with us.'' He hissed.

Mist got up, her fur shaking. The three cats encircled her, and then they padded away, with Mist in the middle. They led her on the rocky path, until she saw water falling loudly in the distance. She blinked. There's water here?
