Chapter 4

Blue

 Blue opened her eyes, coughing. She got up, still feeling dizzy. She looked around, confused, but then she remembered what happened. Ow, my head hurts.. stupid paw, I fell because it slid off the branch!

 She then thought of Mist. Did my sister manage to escape from the dog? I hope so.. I think she's back at our den.

 Still dizzy, Blue began to head out of the forest toward her den. She couldn't wait to see her sister. But when she left the forest and looked at the den, her sister wasn't there.

 ''Mist?'' She asked, confused.

 No response.

 ''Mist?'' She called again, running toward the den. She looked around, suddenly scared, and ran in the den. Her sister wasn't there.

 ''Mist, where are you?'' She shrieked and ran outside. The forest.. maybe she went in the forest to look for me!

 Blue ran back in the forest. Once there, she began to look for her sister.

 ''Mist! I'm here, please respond!'' Blue shrieked. Panicked, she began to run in random directions, but there was no sign of her sister. ''Mist!'' She cried.

 Suddenly, she got pinned to the ground by a golden brown tabby tom.

 ''I knew I heard a voice!'' He spat, unsheathing his claws. ''What are you doing on our territory, loner?!''

 ''Please let me go!'' Blue shrieked, but the tom didn't back off. 

 A dark brown tabby tom approached them. ''What did you find, Thornclaw?'' The tom asked. When he saw the she-cat, he blinked. ''Another loner? Come on, leave!'' He hissed.

 Thornclaw backed off, and Blue got up. She wanted to run away, but before she could, Thornclaw said something that made her freeze.

 ''Wait, Brambleclaw, I think we should bring her to Firestar.''

 No no no no no! ''O-Oh, I'm fine, thanks. I better go now.'' Blue meowed.

 ''No, you're not going anywhere. You're coming with us.'' Brambleclaw hissed. ''If you don't want to lose your fur, then you better follow us.''

 Blue sighed, then gave a nod. She began following Brambleclaw, while Thornclaw brought up the rear, making sure the she-cat wasn't going to run away.

 After a while, they began to walk downwards on a small hill that led to thorn tunnel. When they left it, Blue looked around. They were at the bottom of a cliff now. She saw a bunch of cats talking, with a lot of dens standing by the smooth walls of the cliff. At the opposite side of the cliff, she saw a hole, and in front of it, a giant rock.

 The cats seemed to notice her, because some of them padded toward her.

 ''Who's this?'' A striped gray she-cat asked, looking at the intruder.

 ''Oh, she's a loner. We decided to bring her to Firestar.'' Thornclaw meowed. 

 ''Come on, follow me.'' Brambleclaw meowed and began leading Mist toward the rock. ''Firestar!'' He called.

 A ginger tom padded out of the den and onto the rock. He then jumped off and noticed the she-cat. ''Who's this?''

 ''A loner. Me and Thornclaw found her in the territory, and we decided to bring her here.'' Brambleclaw explained. 

 Firestar blinked and looked at her. ''What's your name and why were you in our territory?'' He asked.

 ''M-My name is Blue.'' She whispered. ''I- I got chased by a dog here and- well, now I'm here.'' She explained.
