The States! (Aph)

Working out whats going on pt.2

Previously:
'Texas chuckled as Zach scrambled to sit down with out falling. " So, I know I'm not exactly the most qualified state to answer any questions but you looked like you needed a break. So got any questions? About being a state or the house and all that."'

Back to current  time:
"Questions? About the house??" Zach repeated. ' I mean I have questions but to be put on the spot like this..'
" Do you not have questions?" Texas said after the long silence. Zach scrambled to give an answer.
" O-Of Course I have questions!!" Texas only stared at him before bursting out in laughter. " huh, what is it did i say something funny??"
" ha-It-It's just your anxious! Chill my dude!" Texas than put a, pretty heavy, hand on Zach's back as reassurance. Texas then got a serious look on his face. He looked away from Zach and towards the pond in font of them.
" I could get someone else to come help you out if want-"
"N O!" Texas turned back. Zach was hunched up and his face was as red as Texas' scarf. He quickly tried backpedaling. "I-I mean I know- well kind of -know you. And I dont really wanna.....you know.." Zach trailed off while looking down. Texas couldn't really hear him anymore.
' He doesn't wanna see anybody else? But he knows me?? What does he mean.?' Texas wasn't the brightest state around and some might even say he's kinda dense but that doesn't mean he's stupid. 'Oh'
"Ohhhhh, haha you don't wanna go meeting everybody else huh?" Zach nodded sadly. " That's alright, there are a lot of us so that's understandable! But ya'kno  you're gonna have to meet everyone sooner or later pal!"
    " I-I figured..but for now just you?"
    " Sure Kid, Just me" The smile on his face was blinding " NOW C'MON! You got questions, Shoot!!"
    "a-aH right! Uhm.." Zach took a moment to try and collect his thoughts. What questions should he ask first?
' Let's go with the obvious ones..' Zach took a deep breath and turned completely towards Texas.
    "What-..What are we?" Texas stared at him again grin on his face faltering a little bit. It seems out of all the questions that could've been asked he didn't expect this one.
    " Oh well, You, me and the 50 something other people in that house over there are states. Personified states of America to be exact."
    " America? I feel like I know that..That man, the blond one who found me. Why did I know him? "    " It's sorta ingrained on you so I don't doubt it haha! And the other question is well he IS America. He's sorta like our dad I guess because we're all just apart of him. He is the essence of the USA All 50 of us are just apart of him. Who knows why we were all put here but he does his best to take care of us" Texas Stared out at the pond with a wistful somber-like expression. " He tries his best even when we are terrible. Even when we do unforgivable things, no matter what he still cares and loves us. I...He really is a hero. Haha and thats coming from me!" He stared laughing but it didn't sound right, like it was forced.
    ' I feel like i missed something....I won't push. Ask another question. ... HuH?!' Zach startled himself with his own thoughts. ' That-That didn't sound like my voice?..But it felt like mine.?' He looked up at Texas, He was still laughing but less violently as before.
    " Uhm..Texas?"
    "HAhhaa-huh? Oh right my bad!" He rubbed the back of his head as he chuckled. Readjusting his hat he continued. "What's up new kid?"
' I'm gonna ignore that 'new kid' comments..' " I..I have this voice in my head. It doesn't sound like me but I feel like it's mine? It keeps pushing me to know things that I feel like I know..I don't really know how to describe it but it's kinda bugging me. I feel like I should know someone but every other part of me is screaming not to know who it is."
    " Oh jeez....uhm I honestly don't know how to explain this..."
    "...We've got time?"
    "HAaHa Yeah okay.... When." Texas was thinking over his words as carefully as he could, which was rare. "When a state dies, two things could happen. Option one, you wake up in a couple weeks with a new scar and sick story and nothing changes..or.." Zach was getting anxious.
     "..Or?" Texas sighed but continued on.
    " Or option two. You just die. You die and a new personification is made to take the empty space. It's happen to most of us. I've died and came back like nothing, Like Colorado and Florida. Others like South Carolina, West V, and well you aren't so lucky." Zach took a moment to process this. ' Wait so we're kinda like immortal?? Wait oh my god I was a complete different person! Or was that just someone else? Do I look like them?? How many times did it happen?'
    " Can I try some rapid fair questions?"
    "Sure! You processed that fairly well! Good job"
    " Okay. Are we immortal?"
    " Kinda. We can't die from normal injuries, only severe ones. Also no regular human could kill us." Zach nodded and continued.
    " Do I look like them? The old North Dakota."
" hmmm good question." Texas got really close and studied his face. "No. You're face is like completely different than hers was. But you do have blue eyes and she had blue hair so that's the only resemblance I see." Zach sighed in relief. ' Good I really didn't wanna be a walking reminder for everyone.'
" Was she the original? Or was she like me, how many were there?"
"No, Yes she was. Three including you."
" What were their names?"
"Peter and Allison."
" Why is my body screaming not to go find somebody I feel like I miss?"
".... How AM I Supposed to know?? It's your body??!"
" So no ideas?"
".....you're lucky I like gossip and eavesdropping. It's probably because technically you have a twin." Zach was stunned ' A twin? Why do I not feel happy about that? Why do I feel like I have to avoid someone I never met??'
"Who-Who is it? Why do I feel like I have to avoid them?!" Texas sighed.
" Well.. His name is Parker. He's not the best mental wise ya-kno" Texas shrugged. "After Peter's death he just became so shut down and when he met Allison all that sadness got turned into rage. And Allison...She couldn't take it. Then the accident happened and well we don't know the details but it ended up with all of us getting exposed to the rest of the countries and Allison passing away."
"Jeez....So I should avoid Parker?"
" No? I mean do what you want man, I'm just saying facts that Parker is a bit unstable and has anger issues."
They sat in silence of a bit letting the information sink in. After what felt like an hour they heard another voice.
" Hey uh- Don't mean to interrupt the nothing going on,"
A boy walked up. He had a jean jacket over a purple-Blue shirt, some necklaces showing, Black ripped jeans, except the rips were in the shape of stars. He had Purple hightops and what looked like a flannel around his waist on as well. Zach finally looked at his his face. He had blond hair almost like America, his eyes were a deeper shade of blue and his glasses were purple. He also had scars over his cheeks, despite appearance he looked pretty friendly.
"Oh ha ha Colorado. We were just taking a break from questions that make you question your existence." Texas responded to him.
" Yikes, I usually save those for 3 a.m. but to each there own." The newly introduced Colorado jokingly shrugged.
" What did you need man?"
" Oh well I came to fetch new kid! The big man wants to speak with him. Told me to send him to the chambers!"
" Don't say like that you idiot" Even though Texas told him to knock it off they laughed together. " Are you gonna at least introduce your self to new kid?"  Colorado stopped laughing to look Zach up and down.
" Oh right! Hiya! I'm Evan Denver Jones! Also known as Colorado!" He made jazz hands and took an extravagant bow as he introduced himself. Texas was laughing  next to a very confused Zach. Texas nudged him to introduce him self as well.
" Oh uh. I'm Zachary. I haven't gotten the full title yet haha.."
" Well that's probably what the big man wants to talk to you about!" Evan stuck out a hand" Now! Zachary you ready to be officially apart of the family?"
