The Next Step Oneshots

Jealousy

Finn has Piper's hand in his as they head into the Next Steep. They've barely made it through the entrance way when Pipes abruptly forces her hand out of is and turns back. He follows,
"Woah, what's going on?"
She swears. That's new, he thinks. But then he considers the possibility that something's actually really wrong and he softens,
"Okay," He strokes her face, "What?"
Amy catches up with them then.
"Josh." Piper doesn't look at him, but her eyes turn to her best friend.
"What?" Amy appears outraged.
"In the Next Steep." Piper looks at Amy desperately.
"Okay, Piper." Her friend says, "You're fine. You're amazing. You have a boyfriend who you love."
"Yeah."
"Who's Josh?" Finn was getting the impression that he wouldn't be a fan.
Amy looks at Piper pointedly, and she turns to Finn.
"Don't leave me." She whispers. He kisses her gently, which takes her by surprise.
"Never."
"Josh, I liked Josh. A lot. He danced here, a while ago. I told him how I felt, that I had a connection with him, and he, it was unrequited."
"Oh, Pipes!" He exclaims, pulling her in for a hug, "I'm not going to leave you because your sort of ex is here! You are allowed to have liked other people!" She relaxes into him.
"I feel like I have to say hi, but I don't want to."
"You don't have to."
"I lied," She gives him a half smile, "I kind of want to. I mean, I love you so what have I got to lose?"
He grins, and they head back in. This Josh guy notices Piper and Amy immediately. He has dark hair and drinks his tea properly, so there's that.
"Piper!"
"Josh!"
"How are you?" She didn't expect it to be this easy,
"I'm good, actually. How are you? How's Adam?" Who was Adam? Finn feels a pang of jealousy at their supposed closeness.
"I'm great. I'm actually front row at my new studio and Adam's doing better. He's no.1 again."
"That's amazing! Front row!" She smiles.
"Are you, um, are you seeing anyone?" He asks. Piper shocks even herself with her confidence.
"Yeah, actually." She gestures, "This is Finn. He's my boyfriend and he's really awesome." Finn has a playful smile. He's 'really awesome.'
"Hey, bro. Good to meet you. Front row, you must be talented."
"Hi, uh, Finn. Thanks." Josh had kind of been hoping to ask Piper out, but he guesses he was too late.
"So, what brings you here?" Piper asks, unknowingly.
"Oh! Just wanted to drop by, see everyone. Adam's here for a tournament." Finn is unnerved by the fact that when he said 'everyone' his eyes settled on Piper a little too long.
"We should get going to rehearsals." He puts an arm round Pipes. Piper nods.
"Cool. See you. And nice to see you too, Amy." Amy waves back.
They head back out,
"That was great!" Piper says, proud of herself.
"He's okay, I guess." Piper's eyes widen,
"Oh my gosh, you're jealous."
"I'm not!"
"So are!"
"You're really awesome too, and other people can see it." He gives in and she laughs. She kisses him sweetly.
"I love you. You."
"Not as much as I love you."

A lot of people write Josh amazingly as a bad guy, but the real Josh was actually really kind, so I wrote him instead ;)
