14th November, 1955
The 14th came around pretty quick, and Paul was now off his crutches. Sure, he still couldn't run or jog, and he definitely couldn't jump, but he didn't need those annoying things tucked underneath his arms anymore, and for that he was greatful.
John was coming straight home from school that day, and as soon as he got changed they were heading back into the city. Paul couldn't wait... He got to go to the cinema again, for what was technically another date. But this time it was official.
And he was watching one of his favourite movies of all time... On its release date, 50 years before he was born...
He was dressed by the time John arrived home, in the outfit they'd bought on Saturday. To be honest, Paul had to admit that day was the best day of his entire life so far... Everything about it made him smile.
The way John's face lit up when he first saw Elvis on the big screen. How excited he was to show Paul around the city. And the fact that he trusted him.
He loved that man so much, and no matter what decade he was in, that would never go away. Paul wanted to hold John's hand forever, just to make sure he never went anywhere without him.
He sat on John's bed, playing the chords to a new work in progress 'In spite of all the danger' that he and John had patched together not too long before, smiling.
"Hey, Macca." John called time him from the doorway. "You ready?"
"Aye..."
"Alright. I'll just get changed, baby." Paul smiled at the nickname.
Paul couldn't help but watch as John stood in the middle of his room, unbuttoning his school shirt and taking his tie off. He reached into his own wardrobe, pulling out a black T-Shirt.
"What do you think, ey Macca?" John asked, laughing when he turned to look at Paul, who was staring at his chest.
"Aye. Yeah..." He nodded, quickly turning his head away.
"Don't be embarrassed, Macca."
"I'm not. J-Just hurry up, ay?" The younger boy's cheeks were all red and flustered, him stuttering on his own words.
"If you say so." John chuckled, finding Paul's flustering incredibly cute. "Don't wanna miss the film, do we, future boy?"
"Certainly not."

Around 35 minutes later, the two of them had arrived in the city. It wasn't dark just yet, but the sunset was definitely appearing.
"What time does the film start?"
"Not for another... 45 minutes." John shrugged, looking at his watch. "I was thinking maybe we could get some chips and watch the sunset? Brought my camera, too." He smiled.
"Alright." Paul agreed.
They stepped off at the same bus stop as the other day, heading towards the docks to a fish and chip stand. They just got a large portion of chips to share, heading over to sit on a bench near the river.
"God, this is so romantic." John chuckled.
"You bet, you soppy sod." Paul also chuckled, taking a chip, from the box lay in the middle of them, and placing it in his mouth. "Oh, that's good..."
"Course it is. Nothing beats Northen chips, right?"
"Certainly not." Paul smiled, relaxing back into the bench. "This is so pretty..." He gestured to the sunset that was beginning to fall over the river Mersey. They could hear the river from where they were, and it was so peaceful.
