7th November, 1955
John woke up the next morning in his bed, soon noticing he wasn't alone. He could feel somebody's head against his chest, their soft hair nuzzling against his exposed skin where his pyjama t-shirt had lifted up during the night.
It was only when he looked down to see who it was that he noticed it was Paul, fast asleep. And boy, did he look peaceful. His lips resting in a line, eyes closed shut.
As odd as it was, John felt like he could just stare at the younger boy all day. Maybe even run his hands through his soft looking hair, too.
He wasn't even bothered about it seeming odd, the only thing stopping him from doing just that was the fact that the hands on his alarm clock showed that it was 7:10am, and school started at 8:15.
Mimi always drove him to school in the mornings, which meant he didn't have to walk. But still, he had to get ready.
But the younger boy looked so peaceful and John definitely did not want to wake him. So he slowly moved out from underneath Paul's grip, and once he was stood up next to the bed, he looked back down at the boy, still fast asleep. After gently picking Paul up and into his arms, he lay him back down further up the bed, so his head was resting on the pillow.
He's so light...
After a few more seconds of staring, John decided he had to get ready or he'd never leave. So that's what he did, grabbing his uniform from his wardrobe and heading into the bathroom.

"Johnny!" George called to him from down the corridor, running up to him and wrapping his arms around John's torso.
"Ah, hey Georgie." He smiled, ruffling his hair. "What's up, Ringo?" John asked the eldest, noticing him walking up, following after George.
"Nout, just keepin' the kid entertained until you get here." He joked.
Ringo was like George's older brother, it was sweet really.
"John, can we please go to your house after school?" Geo pleaded, looking up. "Please, please, please?! I know Mimi's strict but she likes me, she'll let you if I'm there. And Ritchie and Stu!"
It's not that he didn't want his friends to go round to his house, he loved having them round and Mimi let him home when they were there. It was the fact that Paul was there, and he wasn't so sure that Paul was set on meeting new people just yet.
But George's eyes looked so young and desperate, and John just couldn't refuse.
"Alright, I'll see about it." He smiled down to him, chuckling when he saw George's face light up. "But, I'm not promising you anythin' Geo..."
"That's enough for me!"
It was alright, he'd just call Paul up at break time and ask him if he's okay with it. If he wasn't, then that would be fine. His friends could come a different time.
"Oi, Hazza... Get off 'im. People are gonna start thinkin' you've got your eyes on 'im." Pete Shotten, who had just walked through the main doors, called to George.
He was followed by Stuart, who had his hands on his backpack straps and was looking down to the floor trying to ignore Pete.
"Shotten." Ringo warned, glaring at him.
Nevertheless, George backed up at Pete's comment, a small frown appearing on his face.
"What? I'm bein' honest..." Pete shrugged, now standing in front of them.
"But there's no need to say it like that, Pete." Stuart agreed with Ringo, turning his attention down to George. "Just ignore him, George." He reassured, tone softer.
"Sorry..." George apologised to John, looking to the floor with red cheeks.
John just chuckled fondly. "It's fine, don't worry about it. I mean who wouldn't be excited to see me?" He joked, lighting up the mood.
George laughed shyly as the bell rang for first lesson.
"Don't forget to think about it!" George called to John again.
"I won't, Geo." He smiled, watching as Ringo ushered for George to follow him.
"Does he not have anyone his own age to hang out with?" Pete groaned to John and Stuart, shoving his hands into his pocket. "He's like a bee to a flower."
"Pete." Stuart warned again, this time glaring at him.
"What?"
"Give over." John continued.
"Yeah, stop being a dick, man." Stuart agreed with him. "You take it way too far with George. Your jokes are way too heavy sometimes, almost as if they aren't jokes. Just watch watch you say, otherwise people might begin to think you hate him."
Stuart didn't give time for Pete to respond to him, instead turning on his feet in an annoyed manner and walking away.
"I'm- Uh, whatever." Pete groaned, huffing and storming away. He mumbled something under his breath as he left.
But John wasn't bothered by Pete's huffing or mumbling, there was only around 6 hours until he got to see Paul again.
