Chapter 18😂😡

        When Amber woke up, she was in her room. She felt dizzy and she had quite a headache.
        "You are finally awake." Eva said when she entered the room extending a cup of tea to Amber.
        "What happened yesterday?" Amber asked.
       "Well you got drunk and then Brian had to take you home." Eva answered.
       Amber then remembered what happened last night. She also remembered how she had continuously ask him to kiss her. She started to blush in shame.
      "Did Brian tell you anything that happened last night?" Amber asked.
      "No, he just called to inform us that you were safely at home. "Eva answered.
      Amber felt so ashamed. She wondered what Brian would be thinking now. She was as sure he was laughing his head off.
      When Amber got to work, she kept on trying to avoid Brian. She hid in her office and wouldn't let anyone see her.
    "Hello Amber, I am glad you are back at work. You don't even have a hangover." Brian said entering her office without permission.
     " What do you want and why are you in my office?" Amber asked.
      "I just came to see you. "Brian replied.
     " But I don't want to see you." Amber said.
      " Why? "
       "Because I hate when you are close to me. "Amber replied.
       " That is not how you felt last night."
      "That's because I was drunk." Amber said defensively.
     " You even wanted to kiss me. "
      "That enough."
      "You wanted me to hold you in my arms."
     " No, I didn't. "Amber felt so ashamed. She could feel her skin crawling up with humiliation.
     "What do you want?" Amber asked"An apology, is that it?"
     " Don't be stupid"Brian said sounding amused" But you could say thank you for doing the gentlemanly thing. "
     Hot waves of shame swept through her. She sat there, unable to speak.
     "You know if I had done that, it could have led to another thing. We could have been in... "
     " Okay, okay."Amber blurted out "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so grateful to you."
     "Calm  down, if you yell, your employees will find out what happened last night."
     " Look, I've got work to do. Thanks for turning me down. It would have been the biggest mistake I have ever made."
      " Okay."Brian sounded taken aback, as if he hadn't been expecting quite a brutal put-down,"Well that's that. All forgotten. How about dinner tonight to celebrate the fact that we are still friends?"
     " No thanks."Amber couldn't face it,she was too ashamed. She didn't believe Brian had forgotten about everything. She just knew Brian wouldn't be able to resist teasing her, reminding-as if she needed reminding-what a big fool she made herself.
     "Why?"
     "I really don't want to."
     "What about during the lunch break."
     "I have work to do."Amber had had enough" And I don't want to go out with you for dinner or for lunch." As her patience snapped her voice rose " I just want to be left alone."
