Mei was only 15 at the time. A few months ago she was able to leave her village and clan for the first time to explore the outside world. That was in June.

Now it's December and snow started to fall on the ground gently. Her father had just finished telling her where the sacred scroll of the breaths was. Not even her twin sister was allowed to know.

He had taught her the forms and told her about the history of demons and everything.

"Hey, Father." "Yes, dear?" "Can we have some Udon for dinner tonight?" "I don't know dear, you'll have to ask your mother." He said patting my head with a fond smile. She nodded her head and took off running towards the house. She had passed her twin sister Kei. She hugged her and told her that she and her other little sister Gina had finished their chores for the day.
She loved her twin very dearly at the time, as well as her family and clan.

Her mother was like her, and Mei almost looked exactly like her. She was very kind-hearted and patient. Her father was also very kind, but strict, and gave a cold outside.

It was that night that all the love and happiness she felt turned to hatred and despair. Before it became dark her father asked her and Kei to get some water from the river.

It became dark when they got back, but the only thing was she didn't notice Kei was no longer with her.

Trigger warning ⚠️
Blood and death

Something was off. The village...it's too dark...and quiet. It's only 9 PM. There was a strong smell of blood. Mei started running she turned the corner to see bloody and mangled bodies everywhere. Her eyes widened in fear. She continued running to her home. Doors on houses were destroyed, the scent of blood was only stronger.

She was in front of her house now. There was a trail of blood. She checked everyone's room and couldn't find anyone. She checks the bedroom last. She opened the door and saw her family was brutally murdered. "M-mom! D-Dad! Gina! Kisho! Kishi! What happened!" She yelled with heavy tears in her eyes. She began to hyperventilate but was able to calm herself down. She checked everyone's pulses. Her mother was still there.

"Mom! Mom! Wake up! What happened!" She cried. Her mother looked up at her weakly. "Mei." She said weakly reaching her hand up to caress her cheek. She had a pool of blood around her and soaking her clothes, skin, and the floor.

"Run, Mei...Stay away from Kei. She planned this. Live on without us. You're strong, carry on our family, live, and I want you to know that I'm proud to call you my own...but run away and save yourself and remember what we taught you. Please. I love you, my sweet Mei." She said with a fond smile. When she finished her eyes slowly closed and her hand fell from Mei's cheek with a soft thump.

Her pulse was gone.

"No! Please don't leave me!" Mei screamed hugging her mother's lifeless body. She left a bloody handprint on Mei's cheek. She continued to sit in her family's pools of blood. She was covered in it, but she didn't care.

She cried for a long time, before finally calming down. She heard footsteps and knew that it was time to go.

"Rest in peace." She said quietly. She quickly grabbed the scroll her father told her about as well as her haori her grandmother made and was about to jump out the window. Then she saw it. A demon. He had black clothes on, with a back hat, and had black hair and red eyes. Her eyes widened and she jumped out the window. The last thing she saw was Kei standing next to him with a smile on her face. Mei ran and fled as fast as she could pure fear and adrenaline pumping through her veins.

She stole a knife and a hatchet before running out of the village. In the woods, she was knocked to the ground by something. Another demon. "You look quite delicious little girl." He said licking his lips. Mei tried to fight him off, but he was too strong. Then something came over her. She didn't know what, but the next thing she knew was the demon was slowly disintegrating. She had blood all over her hands, face, hair, body, clothes. It was a mixture of her family, her own, and the demon's blood.

She didn't realize it, but she was critically injured. She had a big gash on her side, that would leave a scar. She was almost out of the forest when she suddenly saw a very tall man with a scar on his forehead and red beads on his hands. Then everything went black.

Man, a year ago I was going through it.
