Mei's eyes slowly opened when she realized she was in the butterfly estate. She had bandages all over her.Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Tengen was sitting there sleeping with a head wrap and eye patch that matched, and his hair was also down resting on his shoulders. Mei shifted and groaned a little bit.
Tengen opened one eye and smiled at the girl. "I'm glad you're awake." He said. "How long was I out?" "Two weeks." He replied helping her sit up since it hurt to do it on her own. She slightly saw under the eyepatch and saw a scar that made him blind. She smiled sadly. "If only I got there a little sooner." She mumbled quietly.
Uzui had heard her and understood what she meant. "Better than losing an arm." He said to her.
They sat in silence for a moment. "I thought I was the only Shinobi left. Even if it's half. That's why Yamamoto sounded so familiar. Your clan was very close with the Shinobis." Mei just smiled. "I was supposed to be one of the leaders of my clan, and I was supposed to have an arranged marriage when I was sixteen so I could lead the village. Then our clan was killed." Mei explained. She looked down and a sad smile appeared when she thought of the memories of her clan.
Suddenly a tear appeared on Mei's face. Uzui quickly wiped it away. "You're too beautiful to cry." He said making a small blush appeared on her face. He suddenly poked her cheek too. "And cute." He said. Mei just laughed at his words even though she was hiding an intense blush.

After about another week Mei was able to go back to her estate. She heard her name loudly being called by no other than the overly loud flame pillar. She flung the door open and walked in. She had just woken up and was being dragged out of her room. Luckily she had on her black and white Kimono. Her hair was still very messy though and she wasn't quite sure of her surroundings. When she was she noticed she was in the courtyard."What the hell?" She mumbled to herself scratching her very messy hair. She was surprised to see all the pillars standing there. "What's happening?" She mumbled in her morning voice. "There's a meeting." He said. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Just then she heard Oyakata-samas voice. "Good Morning Mei...did you oversleep? Poor Feya was in distress because she couldn't wake you." Her eyes widen and she knelt so quickly she almost fell. Her head spun at how fast she moved. The other pillars held in their laugh. "G-good morning sir! I'm so sorry." She said in a very embarrassed tone. The man just smiled at her. "It's alright. Were you up late?" "Uh, well...I did get a little carried away with training and did start to go on a walk..." Mei said shyly. The man quietly laughed and continued with the meeting.

After the meet, Oyakata-sama left leaving the pillars alone. Mei sighed and stood up. Most of the pillars had small smiles on their faces. Mei quickly walked away after. The other pillars noticed the was Uzui looked at the girl. It was obvious that he liked her. Mitsuri nudged his shoulder. "You like her! You like her!" She said excitedly. Uzui didn't respond he just smiled at her and looked away.

Later that day Mei decided to start training. She only had on her uniform, it was way too hot to train in her haori. She started with simple things like one-thousand push-ups and three hundred sit-ups, things like that. When she was done with some of those she went to a bar she had made. She first took off the top of her uniform and changed out of her skirt, and changed into uniform pants instead. She only used them for training. She hung upside down from it by her legs and started to do sit-ups. The three familiar demon slayers caught her training. They silently watched her and she didn't realize the other pillars were as well. They watched her in admiration.
When she was done with three hundred of those she switched to pull-ups and also would sometimes stay there well. She jumped down from the bar and rolled up her selves revealing her tattoo on her left wrist. "I wonder what that tattoo is," Mitsuri said quietly. "Oh, she told me that was the symbol of her clan. When you're born into her clan you are required to have that tattoo on your wrist so they know you're part of the clan. The symbol is a crescent moon and a koi fish." Tanjiro explained. "Oh, I see."
They suddenly heard Mei say something they were very surprised about. "Kei, Muzan I swear I will get you for what you did." She said kind of louder than she meant. She clenched her fists. "I promise mom, dad I will get justice for our clan." She said again after. "What happened?" Iguro questioned. "Well, she told me a little about her past, but I don't know if I should say. She may not want many to know."
They continued to silently watch Mei's training hoping they could possibly get maybe even a few more training exercises from her.
She suddenly started to cough a little. "Damn." She mumbled sitting down taking a break. "Pushed a little too hard."
Suddenly a Kakushi appeared and suddenly tripped cutting themselves pretty badly. "Oh! Are you okay?" Mei said bending down to their level. "Yes, I'm fine ma'am." "Oh dear, you're bleeding. Here." She ripped off some of their buttoned undershirts making it a crop top. The Kakushi was surprised by her actions as well as the others. "Here, use this to stop the bleeding. I'll be right back. Stay here." Mei smiled standing up. "Y-Yes ma'am!" She exclaimed sitting down immediately.
Mei ran into her house and got some bandages and some things to clean the wound. She went back to the Kakushi and cleaned the wound for her and wrapped it up. "There you go." "Oh- Thank you, ma'am!" She exclaimed bowing multiple times. Mei simply smiled at the girl and let out a small laugh. "You guys work so hard. It's the least I could do."
"You're so generous, ma'am! Thank you! I should be going." She said again bowing and running off again. "Be safe!" Mei called. She stood up again and sighed setting the supplies to the side.
When Mei lifted her arms to stretch they saw the big scar on her side and her outline of abs. Their eyes widened. They could tell that the wound was very very deep and it happened a long time ago.
Mei sighed tracing her finger over it lightly. "Damn bastard." She mumbled. Memories of her clan flooded the back of her head. She held the necklace her father got her and Kei for their tenth birthday.
Flashback
Ten years ago"Kei Kei! Hurry up!" A now ten-year-old Mei called to her twin sister. "Coming, Mei Mei!" Her beloved sister called back. The girls were going to visit their favorite Aunt.
They arrived at her house and immediately hugged their loving aunt. "Auntie!" The girls called at the same time. "Meiko! Keiko! My favorite twin girls!" She said hugging the two girls. It was also their tenth birthday.
"Auntie! Calls us by our nicknames!" The girls said at the same time again. "Oh, but your names are so beautiful!" "Auntie Auntie look what father gave us!" They said showing their necklaces. The necklaces were made of sterling silver and had a full moon on them with their first letter initial. "Wow! They're beautiful!" "Thank you, Auntie!" They exclaimed.
Later that day the whole clan celebrated the girls.
End of flashback
Mei smiled at the memories of that night. Mei doesn't realize it, but deep down she still does care about Kei, even if she did betray her clan. Mei still has a silent hope she ignores that Kei had a reason for her actions. The only problem is that her hatred and despair covers that small hope and feeling from the bottom of her heart.
When was finished with her break Tanjiro came out of hiding. She noticed him approaching her and she smiled. "Hey Tanjiro-Kun, what are you up to?" "I'm was hoping I could visit Nezuko." "Of course you can. No need to ask." "Okay! Thank you. So Yamamoto-san what are you up to?" "Oh just training a little bit." "I see. So what do you do for training?" He asked. "Really anything. It also depends on my mood." "Oh see...what have you been working on today then?" "Mainly physical strength." "I see."
Mei decided to give him some tips and then he went to visit his sister. Mei just continued her training for another hour and then showered, changed, and started to read her book.
