It's been two weeks since Mei and Tengen went on a mission together. Since then she's had small easy missions. Although today is an off day for her.Mei wore her black and white kimono and had her hair in a bun, and she was reading a poetry book....or at least she was trying to.
Ever since that sound pillar kissed Mei's forehead, he's been frequently on her mind. Mei couldn't understand why though.
Mei sighed and jumped off her roof and went inside her estate. She set her book down and went back inside. She met and greeted some of the people who worked in her estate to help keep it clean and everything while she's gone. She saw it was only 1 PM so she checked on Nezuko who was sleeping soundly. Mei smiled and tucked her in nicely before closing her door again and going outside. She sat on her porch and didn't have her mask on so the sunlight warmed her face up.
She saw Aoi and Kanao walking around and she greeted them and offered some tea. They both accepted the offer and went inside her estate enjoying the tea one of her workers made.
They then just talked about random things and then a crow had sent Kanao on a mission. Aoi went back to the butterfly estate. To waste more time she decided to take a walk herself.
In the middle of her walk, she bumped into a tall figure in the main hall area. "Oh Sorry." She quickly apologized only to realize it was Uzui himself. "Oh, good afternoon Uzui-san." She said with a smile. "Good afternoon Yamamoto-san." He smiled.
Her heart rate started to pick up suddenly. She had no idea why but tried to ignore that part. He soon walked past her and a small blush appeared on her face. It was well noticed by Mitsuri who was sitting there watching with Iguro and Giyu.
Mei decided to join them and was surprised when Mitsuri suddenly grabbed her hand and dragged her outside. "I saw that Yamamoto-Chan!" "Saw what?" "You blushing! You like him don't you!" "Like who?" "Uzui-san!" She exclaimed excitedly.
I like him? She thought to herself. There's no way....right? She thought again. "I don't know...." Mei said to her. "Okay fine! Tell me about how you've been feeling recently around him."
Mei thought for a second then answered her. "Let's see...uh for some reason now he's always on my mind and I can't stop thinking about him or worrying about him...when I'm near him or look at him my face feels hot and my heart rate picks up for some reason, and I sometimes even get nervous...uh I want to know more about him...Sometimes when I talk to him I get this weird feeling in my stomach...And I do kind of think he's good-looking....I-I don't know! I don't know what to do!" Mei suddenly exclaimed becoming confused by her own feelings.
Mitsuri smiled at her. "Well from what I heard so far you like him!" Mei's mouth opened in surprise. "Tell you what! Iguro, me, Kochou, and Giyu along with him are going to a festival tonight. Why don't you join us!" Mitsuri suggested. Mei nodded her head and agreed. Mitsuri excitedly clapped her hands together. "Great! We're leaving at 7!" "Okay...what should I wear?" "Come over to my place at 6! Okay!" She said excitedly. Mei just nodded her head.

Mei started to head over to Mitsuris estate. When she arrived Mitsuri quickly ushered her in. Mei learned that all the other pillars were on missions so they couldn't go. Mitsuri also made sure to let Oyakata-Sama know that Mei was going with them.Mitsuri started to show her many different Kimonos until she found the one that looked best on her. It was a black one with red flowers on it and a red sash around her waist. Mei put her hair in her normal bun along with her hairpin. Mitsuri prohibited her from wearing her mask. The only exception was Iguros mask on his face for a person and physical reasons for him.
Mitsuri also put a slight amount of makeup on Mei as well. When all six of them were ready they met at the front entrances. Tengen has no idea that Mei was coming and surely wasn't expecting her to look so breathtaking. In fact, his own breath hitched in his throat, and his eyes widened, and his heart rate started to pick up a lot. When she was close to him he controlled himself to not stare at her too much.
"Hope you don't mind that Mei decided to join in!" Mitsuri said. "No no! Not a problem! The more the merrier right!" Shinobu said. "You girls look very flamboyant!" Uzui said with a lot of confidence. The three girls thanked him and they started to head to the festival.

They arrived at the festival and Mei's mouth dropped at how live and festive and bright it was. "Oh! Yamamoto-chan have you never been to a festival before?" Mitsuri asked. Mei couldn't speak, all she did was shake her head no. That surprised a lot of them. "Well, we better show you around then!" Mitsuri exclaimed. They went to the food part first, and then the shopping.Mei realized she and Uzui were separated from the others, then she realized Mitsuri probably did that on purpose. "Well, it looks like we lost them," Uzui said looking around. Mei was too nervous to speak at first. She's never felt like this before, and she had no idea what she was doing. "Should we try to find them?" Mei asked when she got enough confidence. "No, I think it's okay." Uzui smiled.
The two started to walk around and Mei would get many stares because of her beauty. Two people tried to hit on her which was a very low amount of people, and then Mei realized it was probably Uzui was right next to her, and the two looked like a couple.
She suddenly stopped and looked at this hairpin that looked exactly like her mothers did. A small smile appeared on her lips and Uzui noticed this. She set it back down and without her noticing Uzui quickly paid for it.
They made it to this one area that was a little empty, but still well lit. They had decided to wait for the others there.
The view was very nice. Down below from it, you could see a small town that was also well lit. Uzui stood next to her, and he couldn't keep his eyes off of her. The moonlight was right on her face making her look even more beautiful. Then the light wind breeze made the side pieces of her hair and bangs gently blow. She was so beautiful.
Uzui could no longer control himself. "Hey, Yamamoto. Look at me for a second." He said. She turned her head to look at him and wasn't expecting what was happening next.
Uzui grabbed her waist and pulled her close to him with one hand, and used his other to support the back of her head as he tilted her chin and at the same time he leaned downed and pressed his lips against hers. He did that all in one swift motion surprising the girl.
Mei's eyes widened when she realized his lips were pressed against hers. The kiss lasted about ten seconds before he pulled away. "You're beautiful," Uzui said after.
Mei felt that her heart was about to explode and stop working and that her stomach would pop. She was utterly speechless and she didn't fully know how to react. Her face turned a bright red making her extremely flustered. She tried to hide her face when she soon realized she didn't have her mask either. That was her first kiss.
He slides a box into her hand and she was slightly confused but opened it anyway. It was the hairpin that resembled her mother's. Her eyes watered a little bit in memory of her, but Mei was able to get the eye-watering to stop. "T-thank you Uzui-san...this means a lot to me." She said quietly. The man just smiled and patted her head.
Decided to do a quick update after finishing a quick mental breakdown for my first final tmrw. Anyway, I love you all. Thank you for reading. This chapter was weird but I hope you enjoy it. Good luck with finals and no matter what I'm proud of you. Stay safe everyone!:)
