This chapter will be filled with images, so apologies if the images and text get mixed up. As California upgrades her house, different chapters will be added, hence the term 'Base Cabin'. These images are just ideas, and reflect what I imagine the house to look like. You can imagine it whatever way you want, but these are just references. I don't have a reference for the hall though. <3 Katelyn
This first image above is what I imagine the living room like, except it has less personal objects i.e. pillows, blankets, books, etc, as well as no outside door or general decorations. It just has the furniture, not the clutter. The back wall separating the living room and the kitchen is just behind the leather sofa.
This is what I imagine the bedroom to look like, except there is no seating except for the bed, there is a chest of drawers under the window on the left instead of the chair, and the wall behind the corner of the chimney continues right, towards the door, instead of moving back for the seating space, if that makes sense. Also, the room just has the furniture, not the clutter, e.g. blankets, basket of wood, etc.
These are the curtains in the living room and bedroom. California's grandmother chose and made them. They are voile curtains.
This is the headboard of the bed. California's grandad made it by nailing remaining pieces of wood into the wall.
This is the bathroom. I had thought of having a shower instead of a bath, but decided a bath would be nicer and more relaxing than a shower. There's an old sink to the side, but the image cuts it off, oops. Again, the room just has the appliances, not the clutter, e.g. bottles, towels, etc.
This is the kitchen. The room just has the furniture, and some of the clutter, but not all of it, such as the fruit, the plates above the stove, and anything on the other side of the chimney.
This is the dining room with the sliding barn doors shut. The backdoor is behind the camera. Ignore the modern chairs and imagine handmade ones. I can't find a good reference image for them.
This is the outside of the cabin, or a rough idea of it. To the left on the porch, there is a storage area full of chopped fire wood. There is railing across the deck, and down the stairs. A waist high wall runs from beside the door, going behind the house, and around to the other side of the porch. This creates a sealed off garden area. Also, the house is not located in the surroundings pictured.
So it doesn't appear for a while, but eventually, California gets her own truck, and this is it. I'm just putting it here to remind myself about it. 😂 😂
