snaps and hoho were in love, that was a well known fact around brooklyn that spread halfway 'cross new york at this point. after their stubbornness to get together, they haven't gotten off each other.
the brooklyn newsies thought their constant mutual pining was a lot....
snaps bugged hotshot so much sometimes that he sent him to manhattan to rant to his brother buttons instead. buttons pretended to listen just to make him happy.
hoho would annoy spot to the point they would just get up and walk away.
all of them were tired of them then and thought "this will stop when they get together".
no, they just got ten times worse.
"get off of each other already, you two jus' got back from sellin' with each other for hours!" bart whined as he entered the common room of the brooklyn lodging house.
snaps was sat on hoho's lap and they were happily distracted with tangling their fingers through each other's hair and battling with their tongues.
"get a room!" myron laughed from across the room.
snaps groaned, leaning his head back just enough to get an upside-down view of the full room.
"not like we are interrupting you guys or anything! leave us alone...!" he pouted. spot flicked his forehead as they walked by.
"spot acts like they're not all up on elmer five times a week," hoho chuckled, tossing his arms across the top of the couch cushions.
"shut it!" spot threatened, pulling out their pocket knife. but, they were clearly blushing.
"come on hoho we don't need them," snaps crawled off of his boyfriend and pulled him off the couch.
"don't get too crazy," kenny chuckled. this earned him a dirty look from snaps as they were walking out.
they waltzed out the room and went up the stairs to the upmost room where barely any of the newsies slept. so they would definitely be alone. no kenny, myron, bart, hotshot, or bart to make some uptight comment.
hoho pulled snaps in by his waist, snaps immediately snaking his arms around the boys neck. he hovered his lips over hoho's, his hot breath softly grazing over hoho's mouth. when hoho began leaning in for a kiss, snaps spun out of his grasp.
hoho immediately pursed his lips, pouting. snaps had an all too familiar, smug smirk plastered on his face.
"snappy.....!" hoho drew out, whining.
"aw," snaps pretended to empathize, "does hoho want a kiss...?"
"yes, i do!"
"hmmm...okay fine. only because you're cute," snaps giggled and danced back into hoho's arms.
"lovely," hoho whispered.
they both leaned in for the kiss when two fingers were placed on hoho's lips. hoho blinked his eyes open, unamused. his frown was the exact opposite of snaps' mischievous grin.
"i despise you," he muttered against his boyfriend's fingers.
"you love me!" snaps snickered.
"no, i don't."
"awh...come on baby i'm just playing!" he removed his fingers and leaned in for the kiss. this time hoho dodged it. snaps' jaw dropped.
"wow." he deadpanned and began walking away. hoho couldn't keep up the act like his boyfriend could. sometimes he wondered how he did that for so long.
he grabbed snaps' arm and twirled him around then dipped him. "hi angel," he smiled down at him.
"hello." snaps tried his best not to smile back at that irresistible beam that came from the other boy.
"what's wrong?"
"i wanted a kiss," he huffed.
"then get one!"
"nope, you obviously don't want one," he couldn't help the growing smile that appeared in his face.
hoho brought them upright, their lips together but they weren't kissing.
"oh? i dont?" he murmured against his lips.
"maybe."
"how long are you going to be able to keep up the act this time, sweetheart?" he was still talking right against snaps' resistant lips.
snaps let out a small, irritated noise that signaled hoho's victory. snaps' arms were back around his boyfriends neck and found his way into his already messy hair.
one of hoho's hands were resting on the small of snaps' back and the other was gently cupping his cheek.
snaps gave up his act and smashed their lips together, unable to resist any longer.
hoho smiled into the kiss. he didn't think snaps realized he did it so often that hoho had found a way to defeat him. nonetheless, it was adorable. and he loved him for it.
