The Phoenix Foundation Of Justice
The entire building was still undergoing renovations and they were holographic projectors of Mark. The Phoenix agents were back for the memorial service which was about to happen the next day.
Level 100
Alberto was in his Phoenix uniform which had a military look. The capsule that contained The Speedster suit was hidden. Edward walked inside in a black leather jacket with a grey sweat pants, a white shirt and black Nike Air Force sneakers.
"Yo!" Edward exclaimed.
"Sup man?" Alberto asked.
"So it's really happening tomorrow?"
"Yep. To think it will be a one year anniversary of Mark's death."
"I have been trying to sleep for the past few days but I keep seeing my mom and Mark."
"It's just a bad dream."
"Nope, they're a reminder that I failed."
Alberto put his hand on Edward's shoulder. "You didn't fail even though you might have lost a lot this past year but you've really grown into the superhero life."
"You maybe right." Edward said with a smile.
Calabasas CA
Kylie's Office
"So is everything ready?" Kylie asked.
"The last time I checked with Al." Sarah said.
"Okay thanks."
"You really should come down."
"I am so sorry."
"I know it has been a really hard year for you."
"It's been hard to process I mean just a year ago Mark was still alive and I can't help but imagine if he was still alive." Sarah said before she was about to walk out.
"So have you seen Edward? Cause I haven't seen him in a few days?" Kylie asked in a concerned tone.
"I don't really know where he is." Sarah replied.
"Okay. Please tell him to call me when you see him." Kylie said.
Sarah turned back facing Kylie and she nodded.
Sarah stood up and left Kylie all alone in her office. Kylie took her phone and video called her mom.
"Kylie." Kaitlin said.
"What did you say you need from the grocery store?" Kylie asked.
"I need more lettuce and cucumber."
"Okay I will be there in an hour or so."
"Talk to you later."
Parking Lot
Kylie walked towards her black and white Ferrari 458 Italia and she took out her car keys and unlocked the door.
"Kylie Jones" A voice from behind said.
Kylie looked at the back and saw a man. The man was in jeans, he looked like he was in his late thirties, he had blonde hair and grey eyes.
"What do you want from me?" Kylie asked.
"I need your help." the man said.
"What can I help you with?" Kylie asked scared.
"You're connected with The Speedster you can help me get rid of my powers."
The man approached Kylie slowly in a calm but threatening manner and she quickly took out her phone and pressed the panic button on her phone.
