Pay Back The Throat Ripper!

Two weeks later

Dr Ratchet strapped the tachyon device on Edward's chest and Sarah asked, "What's the tachyon device gonna do this time?"

"The last time it was to increase his speed-" Dr Ratchet said and Alberto continued, "This time to charge up his speed energy."

 Sarah nodded, Edward exhaled and Dr Ratchet looked at Edward. "Ready?" Dr Ratchet asked.

 Edward nodded, Dr Ratchet looked at Edward and said "Let's do this."

Dr Ratchet pressed the cyber desk, Edward exhaled sharply, and the tachyon device activated. Edward experienced the same sensation every time he used his superspeed and saw everything as if it was slow. Edward smirked as he felt that electrifying buzz of electricity course through his entire body and then the tachyon device gave out.

Edward threw the tachyon device to the floor, Alberto rushed to pick up the tachyon device and he said, "A slight miscalculation." A hologram of a bar with five colors appeared: green, lime green, yellow, orange, and red.

"What is that?" Edward asked.

"Well, we call that the speed gauge. Because we couldn't account for how much of your speed can return." Sarah replied.

 Alberto looked at the cyber desk and said, "Okay green you're at your normal like Mach one, yellow Mach two, and red which is your maximum Mach three."

"I can't go beyond Mach three. I mean I'm much faster than Mach three." Edward said shocked that he was limited with his speed... AGAIN!!!

 Dr Ratchet looked at his tablet and said, "And based on these readings your speed was only charged up by twenty percent. So I wouldn't recommend going past Mach one."

 Edward nodded and said with unenthusiasm, "Great."

"And that also means that you should be careful how you use your speed," Sarah stated. 

LAPD prescient

Interrogation Room

Lindsay walked inside holding a file and said, "Dimitri Kozlov."

Dimitri a man about Braun Johnson's height, bald, with a goatee with shades of grey, brown eyes. "Why would the man who's one of Interpol's top ten most wanted to get himself caught in LAX?" Lindsay asked.

Dimitri smirked and said in a faint Russian accent, "To get in the city." Lindsay looked at him in bewilderment and then an explosion occurred.

Back at Phoenix

Level 100

Edward walked inside and he asked, "What's going on?"

"Bomb explosion at LAPD." Alberto replied.

Edward sped into his suit and he sped off.

Back at LAPD'S Interrogation Room

Lindsay stood up very gingerly, still discombobulated by the explosion that occurred, Dimitri tried to give Lindsay a sucker punch, but thankfully, due to Lindsay's instincts, she caught his punch, and she proceeded to thrust her left fist into his exposed gut. Dimitri winced a bit, he gave Lindsay a powerful headbutt, that not only sent Lindsay to the ground, but blood trickled down her nostrils and this indicated that her nose may be broken.

Dimitri took Lindsay's gun, he fired three slugs at her, Edward phased through the wall, he caught the first one, then the second, as he was about to catch the third his speed gave out and the bullet hit Lindsay right on her left shoulder. Lindsay fell to the floor in pain, Edward went over to her and he looked to see Dimitri gone.
