Hey, everyone! This alternate ending was requested by and dedicated to pringleslover2 ❤, and of course to all other readers that shipped Paige with Poe ever since I dragged him into her life hehe

Oh, by the way, and I believe this is an important notice, if y'all are confused with my epilogue or the original ending, like probably who Paige ended up with, well, I'm gonna be completely honest with you guys, I HAVE NO IDEA EITHER. Please don't hate me or whatever, I honestly got lost in my own story and got really torn between Hux and Kylo as well, so I decided to let everyone have their own choice, whether that made things better or worse, doesn't really matter to me anymore because I think it mixed out pretty well in the end. Okay, that's it for this note, happy reading!

***

It was dark and cold, and she was running. Her breath came out as white puffs as she panted quickly. She didn't know who she was running from, or where she was going, but she was sure of one thing, she had to run away. She held her hands in front and around of her, trying to feel for something in the dark, anything, anything. But, there was nothing. She was alone, and she was lost. Her legs were starting to ache as they kept running further and further away from the unknown terror behind her. She contemplated on looking back, thought of risking a glance behind, but it was interrupted by a solid smooth wall that she crashed into. Scrambling back up, she pressed both her hands on the glass she had just ran into, she tried to push if it would give way, but it held firm. Suddenly, feeling very frantic, she started to bang on the glass, yelling.

"Let me out!"

She didn't even know if she was contained in something or if this was a dead end, but she kept banging on the glass, the beat of her heart matching the speed of her fists. Something was behind her, something or someone. Helpless, her banging on the wall slowed to a stop, and she turned around in defeat, willing herself to be ready for whatever it was that plagued her. When she looked, she saw herself, Paige. Only it was not her, it was Darth Cailin.

Shock was on her face as she took a cautious step forward to the image of her in front of her, shock was then replaced with confusion, as she held up her hand and the image did so as well. She pointed her index finger and the image mirrored her movements until their fingers connected at the tips. She stared at their touching fingers and swallowed a lump in her throat, anxious of the once dark version of herself that was presented to her now.

"Why were you running?" Cailin grinned evilly at her.

"I-"

"You know you cannot run from me."

Paige furrowed her eyebrows and thought of a reason, or even a snarky remark. She had to be better, she had to best herself. But, how could she? When she believed this version was stronger.

"I made you great." Cailin sneered.

Paige noticed that the once connected fingers had become connected hands, as they pressed against each other.

"But I won't be complete, unless I get you back in me." Cailin's eyes turned dark.

Paige realized her darker self's intentions and tried to pry her hand away from the connection.

"Stop fighting me. After all, I am you."

Panic rushed into her mind and she looked around to find anything to defend herself, or at least escape. She felt herself getting weaker as her being was very slowly dispersing into tiny shimmers of light, sucking into the body of the darker one. It started with their touching hands, moving up proximally to her forearm. She had to escape.
