TYRELL

I had to get a new phone, I lost a million dollar deal and I lost a client.. lucky me. Who wouldn't be happy in my situation?

I was currently heading home to pick Chanelle up for Thanksgiving. Maybe I shouldn't have put her down or something, coz honestly I don't know what she would have had me do at that moment, but she flushing my phone down the toilet way deeper.

I got home and walked in to call Chanelle. She was there sitting in a couch. "Let's go," was all I had to say to her. She on the other hand wasted no time in going to the car without even saying a word to me.. rude much?

We got to the car, my driver waiting patiently by the car. "You're dismissed." I let the driver go. I wanted to drive today.

She glared at me for a short while before entering the passenger seat. I sat in the driver's seat and rode off.

I was driving for almost fifteen minutes and neither of us said anything to each other. I thought she'd be better by now, why is she still vexed, it's not like it was her phone that was thrown down the toilet, besides she wasn't one to stay mad for that long.

I glanced at the passenger seat next to me where she sat, she was just on her phone, texting randomly.

She noticed I was looking, I think I stared too long. "Are you trying to get us killed?" She sassed.

I just inhaled not wanting to reply to that. "I wonder why you're so pissed." I returned her attitude.

"Don't fucking talk to me." That's not very mature you know. Who was supposed to be vexed between us both?

"Yeah whatever.." she glared at me the moment I said that and rolled her eyes afterwards.

"Bitch." Okay now she really needs to stop calling me that.

"Where's all this attitude coming from? You tossed my phone in the toilet. I lost a client."

"Well I lost the neurosurgery I had on Saturday, so we both lost something. Now just drive."

A part of me did feel bad for her.. I mean I lost a client, I have many more, but she only had that brain surgery.. but honestly, was the attitude needed? "Oh, I didn't know that."

"I'm so surprised." The sarcasm was quite annoying.

Thank God we have approached my parent's gates, coz I just seem to be getting pissed for some reason. I pulled up at the driveway and got out of the car.

I walked to the door and she walked right behind me with nothing close to smile on her face. "Could you at least smile? It's Thanksgiving, not a funeral." I wasn't one to air my dirty laundry out in the open, so I needed her to give a smile, even if it was fake.

She rose a brow in annoyance as she heard what I said. "You must have really spelled me when we were dating." When the security scanner was done with my prints, she walked in, even before I did. Well at least we made it here in time.

We walked to the dining room and after the greetings and wishes, we sat next to each other. Thanksgiving was all about family.. and food. I didn't have a lot to eat anyways my my appetite was never really big.

I had to excuse myself from dinner when I heard my phone ring. I had to take it.. I always had to take it. I did lose my subscriber module when I got my phone flushed, but thank God I had everything backed up.

After the call, I came back to the dining. Everyone was done eating though. Ginger and my mom already had Chanelle, they love talking a lot. I wasn't so pumped to going over to my dad.. he probably already heard I lost a deal today.

"Father.." I heard myself say. He better take it easy on me, I sure didn't want him to retire, but he did and running a huge company like that was not easy. "You heard didn't you?"

"That you lost a really good client, yes." He was straight with that, but he didn't sound cold, nor did he sound bothered.

"You're not mad?" I had to know, because he wasn't very lenient raising me.

He took his glasses off. "Should I be?" Okay at this point I wasn't very sure I could hear correctly. "Let's get some fresh air for a bit." He got up from the couch he was seated on.

I followed him till we got to the garden at the back of the house. "I don't really get why we're here," I let out.

He only smiled. "When I first took over the company, I lost six clients in less than three months." Fuck did I just hear? Michael Ryder ever did something wrong. "I wasn't always perfect and as it is, you're handling it better than I did at first. You've been there for four months and you've only lost one.. I'm proud."

No matter what, this was a personal win for me. I was doing something right. "I'm glad-" I paused. It was my dumb phone again. I looked down at it and turned it off.. I knew better than interrupting a conversation with my father because a phonecall.

"You made the right choice by ignoring that." Thank God I did.

"You need to lay off your phone for a while, work cannot be the end of you." Easy for you to say when you don't work two time eating jobs.

"It's not as easy as you make it sound dad, I have two jobs." If he really worked this job he'll get it.

"Did you think I was just waiting around for your grandfather to hand this business over to me? I had a job too." I think I know too little about my  dad. I thought he started working in the company right after studying business management.

"That must have been hard to manage."

"Yes it was, it was hard to balance both jobs and your mother then you came along and your sister did too. I learned to set my priorities straight." What he's getting to is not something I can do.

"You want me to quit modelling?" That was all I could understand from what he said to me.

"That's not what I'm saying." He inhaled. "How okay is your wife with this situation?"

"She's okay." I lied.

"Let's keep going to see how 'okay' she remains with that."

"What are you saying?"

"Family should be your first responsibility." Family is my priority, I just have no choice though.
