♡| Louis had always loved November, and everything it had to offer.
NOVEMBER 26th, 2007, SAW LOUIS AND HARRY HAVING SATURDAY NIGHT PLANS of building a bonfire and making s'mores, however, it doesn't go as planned.
Louis currently found himself sitting in Harry's backyard, waiting for Harry to show up so he could start the fire and get everything ready.
He knew Harry wasn't really punctual, and he did have work that day, but being three hours late without notice isn't exactly like Harry. One more hour. The sun is just barely gone, they were thinking about going swimming first, though that seems out of the picture by this point.
He goes inside after twenty more minutes of sitting by an empty fire pit. Maybe tonight just wasn't the right night according to the universe.
Louis goes up to Harry's room and puts a movie on before laying on the bed, he knows Harry won't mind.
An hour later, Louis' shoulder is being moved and he hears Harry's voice calling him.
"Look how finally showed up." Louis grumbles, moving from Harry's touch and burying himself deeper in Harry's blankets.
"'m sorry Lou," Harry pouts, "I didn't mean-"
"Aw, is this your little brother?" Louis hears another voice and his eyes shoot open. He sees a bleached blonde figure walking through the door. Isn't this that one kid Harry dated years back?
"No, Niall. This is Louis...my best friend." Harry curls up, eyes screwed shut out of complete annoyance because he knows once Niall's gone, he's never going to hear the end of it.
"I see you've changed plans last minute," Louis mumbles sarcastically, "I'll be on my way." he climbs out of bed and puts his sneakers on, making his way out of the room.
"Blue-"
"See ya later, Harry." Louis mumbles once more, leaving the room without giving Harry a glance.
Now, in his defense, Harry made countless attempts to get away from Niall, countless attempts to make it clear that he already had plans but Niall would not leave him alone. The boy practically invited himself into Harry's car after seeing him at the grocery store (and then proceeding to hold him up an extra three hours by not shutting up and practically forcing him to go get McDonald's with him).
"So, what do you wanna do?" Niall asked, trying to sound innocent as he sat, and made himself comfortable on Harry's bed. Harry saw through it, he knew what Niall wanted from him. The same thing he wanted when they were younger.
"Actually Niall," Harry forces a yawn, "I think I'm gonna call it a night, I'll see you to the door." he offers a tight smile and begins walking out of the room slowly, expecting Niall to follow; however when Niall basically refuses to leave his bed, Harry realizes this isn't going to be as easy as he'd hoped.
"Look," Harry starts, "this is my first time seeing you since we were younger- and don't get me wrong, I'm sure you grew into an amazing person, but I'm...emotionally unavailable right now. Not really in the right headspace to be involved with anyone in any way." he's only partially lying, but he still feels bad.
"C'mon," Niall pouts, getting up and walking over Harry, "no strings, no emotions, just this once?" he puts his hand out to touch Harry's forearm, eyes widening when Harry grabs his wrist.
"Touch me and I swear to God I will make it impossible for you to ever have kids." Harry says, calmly.
Niall scoffs, furrowing his eyebrows at Harry, "I thought you were easy." he huffs.
"Maybe you shouldn't listen to everything you hear, Niall. Now, you know where the door is. Kindly get the fuck out of my house, thanks." he gently pushes Niall our of his room and to the door to ensure that the man leaves.
After locking his front door, Harry looks out his window, watching Niall walk down the street until he's out if sight and Harry knows he's gone.
Twenty minutes later, Harry's in his pajamas, sing-a-long DVD copy of Grease in one hand, and a tub of plain vanilla ice cream in the other, and he's walking to Louis' house.
He knows it could be perceived as silly, doing all this to get Louis to accept the apologies he's going to give, but to Harry, this is the least he can do.
He knocks on Louis' door, now really isn't the time to use his key; he smiles as Louis opens the door. He looks tiny in one of Harry's shirts, angrily fiddling with the ring he wears on a chain.
"Lou," Harry starts, "I'm sorry. I know it was supposed to be a day for us, and I don't know what got into me today. I was wrong for not sending Niall away earlier. Let me make it up to you?"
Louis takes in his appearance, and pretends to debate giving in and telling Harry to come in so they can cuddle up and watch Grease.
"I suppose you're right." he jokes, seeing the look on Harry's face makes him giggle. "You don't have to make it up to me," Harry pouts and Louis smiles, "but who am I to turn down Grease, ice cream and obligatory cuddles?" Harry lets out a breath of relief.
Within minutes they find themselves in Louis' room, singing along and talking with the movie. By the time Sandy ditches Danny at the drive-in, Harry's fallen asleep on Louis' tummy.
And it's this moment right here. These times where it's just him and Harry and the world stops spinning and no one else exists. It's this moment where Louis decides that's there's really no way he could ever be mad at Harry, no matter what he does.
"I love you, you dork." Louis mumbles before placing a kiss on the top of Harry's head.
"I love you too, blue."
"You were awake?" Louis chuckles, confused.
"I had to fake it because I didn't want you to stop playing with my hair." he shrugs, voice all raspy.
Louis rolls his eyes an response, and yeah. He could never be mad at Harry, even when joking.
